"An ideal place to stay for a night with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Room was extremely quiet and we didn’t hear a thing, until in the early hours of the morning other guests decided to bang hard on our door on the way to their room, which is obviously not great behaviour. Unsure why we were asked to pre-check in to then have to give the name of the second guest on arrival, which should have been covered by the pre-check in process. Easy walk to and from railway station and in the heart of town for food and drink. Would stay again if needed a cheaper option that staying in London."
"The room was quite dirty - mouldy shower curtain and grime around the bath plug etc. no air con and very hot - fan provided but didn’t so much. Funny smell. Staff were nice but I wouldn’t stay here again"
"Terrible experience. We were greeted by a male receptionist (Sundeep was his name I believe). He asked for the name of the booking, then gave us the room keys. We went to the room and fell asleep at 10 pm. At around 10.40 pm the same receptionist came to our room and woke us up. He knocked and shouted that he does not see the reservation. My mother asked if this could wait till the morning. He said no. Half-asleep, I dressed up and showed the Expedia confirmation. He nodded and went away. However, I did not feel safe to do so - what kind of hotel/BnB does such things? Surely the receptionist could have checked everything before handing us the keys or at least wait till the morning, as this was during the legal non-disturbance time. I am not sure if he was drunk or simply careless, inconsiderate and violating the guest-host agreement.
The walls were thin, we could hear what other guests were doing next door which did not help to fall asleep.
Could not take proper shower due to outdated shower head and insufficient water flow. No hot water out of our bathroom tap. Insufficient amount of hand soup.
Both my mother and I are vegans. The BnB advertises that they provide full English breakfast. Fine, we were not expecting big effort to cater for us, as it's a small BnB. We asked the lady who was serving breakfast to just omit the meat and eggs. But the scarce amount of other ingredients clearly stayed the same as in the usual meal. Ok but maybe not the most welcoming thing?"
"My first room was not good, no hangers, no teaspoons, felt very very poor value, I informed the staff who were excellent, I was then put in another room to complete my stay, now that room was amazing, 4 poster bed, really fab."
"Bed very hard and tv not positioned well for room or viewing. The room is very small for tall person. - but ok as said, ie clean and tidy.
It’s a shame you don’t get a coffee vouchers or bottled water for stay.
Staff very friendly and engaging with any issues. Fixed shower for example very quickly."
"This place feels like an odd mix — some aspects feel like a hip boutique hotel while others seem a bit “budget.” There is no actual lobby or dedicated hotel staff in the evening, so you collect your key from the large bar on the ground floor. The rooms are nicely decorated and well appointed (eg, nice bathroom fixtures, Nespresso machine in room), though quite dark. Good location in historic city centre. Nice touches like a refrigerator on the corridor that has bottles of cold filtered water."
