We had 2wd cars so I didn’t expect the road to the resort quite bumpy for more than 10 km. But when we got there, we loved everything there. The rooms with ocean view, friendly staff, fresh seafood, and the turkeys, peacocks and the wallabies. We had no TV in the rooms but it didn’t bother us, we had lots of fun enough.

We have stayed at Crab Claw a few times. Rooms are basic, but have everything you need for a good nights sleep. Staff are friendly, the food portions at dinner are massive. The view is outstanding! I always get up early and watch the sunrise its something every traveller should see. The pools are clean, bring the bug spray the midgies are pretty bad. My only criticism is that breakfast is cerial, toast or whatever fruit is left. As we were leaving we seen people asking for eggs on toast. Which we had no idea about, and would have happily enjoyed.. if staff had mentioned that earlier. Cheers for a great stay, like always we will be back.

Double charged by the hotel with a lackadaisical response and still waiting for the Visa fraud team to go through the motions.Tried telling me that Wotif double charged me, but it’s clear as a bell it was this place’s dodgy manager! More interested in their helicopter tours than their hotel for sure! Rooms were unclean and facilities are run down. Don’t waste your $$!

Amazing location! We stayed in a beach front cabin and you couldn’t ask for a better view. Cabins are small but provide all you need and the stay is about what is outside your door anyway. The pools are lovely, the evening meal was excellent and the included continental breakfast was a bonus. Friendly staff and great ambience. Will definitely visit again.

Amazing view

Beach front cabin had amazing view. The selections available for lunch and dinner menu was excellent and speedy service. All the bar and service staff were great. We will definitely be returning.

Nothing to do but relax

We stayed in a beachfront cabin which had one double and 2 single beds. The space was a bit cramped with just the two of us but at least we could put stuff on top of the other beds. There was a fridge and kettle. The bathroom was small but perfectly functional. The cabin was reasonably clean but I don’t think anyone had swept under the beds in a long time. Great balcony with table and chairs for chilling out. Free wifi in the restaurant with reasonable 3G reception. If you’re not fishing there really isn’t anything else to do. We asked about the bushwalking mentioned on their website but that’s not a happening thing anymore. Continental breakfast was included with the option of a cooked breakfast at additional cost. The variety and quality of the meals was good. All the staff were very friendly and cheerful. Excitement of the day was watching all the helicopters on a pub crawl landing and taking off from the beach in front of us. We did enjoy our time here, with nothing else to do it was a chance to relax and unwind. The biggest decision we had to make was what to have for dinner.

Nice, but probably won’t go back.

Beautiful spot. While the beachfront rooms have a great view, I would not recommend them for for than a couple, with one small child at the most. Due to being on stilts with wooden floors, they are quite noisy. Lack of privacy with regard to sharing a small balcony with the attached room. Staff were excellent and food was adequate but not brilliant.
