THERE IS NO ON-SITE PARKING, despite what the hotel's website says. You must park in a public parking garage and walk in. Large rooms located above a cafe right over the town square. It's not quiet, given the location, but it is convenient.

The guest house was a convenient place to stay and very clean.Noisy at night sometimes and the builders worked 8.ooam till 11pm one night we were there out the front which was very annoying and kept us awake.

The check in person was helpful and kind. Hotel was hard to find because it is a restaurant. You need to go through the restaurant to get upstairs to the room. The room was very large and comfortable but very very tired.

A dream night !

The room size and 5 large windows on the central Market place was amazing!! The authenticity of the architecture, features and some of the furniture was most valued by me. Some modern additions were distasteful and cheap like sided bed tables but did not succeed in spoiling the fascination of the room size, layout, windows and view. Bathroom and toilet were comfortable and had all amenities. Sheets and towels were clean and of high quality. Books in old bookshelf were a bonus !!

Excellent location right on the main square. The room was quite dated and in desperate need of redecoration. The photos in the description do not reflect current state of the rooms. Remarkably clean and very comfortable bed. Good value for money.

Firstly the location is superb you won’t find better as it’s on the central square in Bruges which is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are big too with plenty of space however they feel very tired and somewhat run down

Loved it.

I booked this on its proximity to the Christmas market. Thecheck in is through the bistro and the staff could not have been more helpful. They even carried our bags to the lift. The luft is quirky but functional. The room was massive andhad a shabby chic feel. It had a fridge and kettle and a huge bed. Theviews from the windows were amazing and right into the square. If you are parking you need to stay at the bierkorf car park, very reasonable and close by. We stayed for 3nights and had a great time. There have been a lot of negative comments about this place, but it is not badly priced ,it has an amazing location and it is amazingly quirky. Staff were lovely and i would stay again.

Beautiful, large, 2 bedroom suite with high ceilings and large windows overlooking Market Square. The entrance is through the restaurant on the square so it’s not obvious; ask a waiter when you arrive. There is a small elevator and stairs to get to your suite. Amazing location on the square but it’s not quiet. Great if you enjoy being in the middle of the action.

It was beautiful! We are one adult and 2 teenage girls, and this was the best experience. Felt like staying in a family member house. Felt safe. Staff great, we had dinner at the restaurant, every time we came back the staff will greet as welcome home :) the room had the most incredible view to the main plaza, waking up with the horses sound was awesome!! The lights at the plaza go out at 11:30 pm- very comfortable we had 3 rooms, very clean, some dust in the chandelier and big curtains but nothing to complain. We were out walking the beautiful city most of the day, stayed 2 nights. It has an elevator!! Comfortable beds, clean towels, hot water, fridge, oven, coffee maker. Will recommend

Spacious room that needs a makeover

The room is very spacious w five enormous windows facing the market square, and an odd bathtub in the middle of the room. The furniture and fabrics are worn, but the ambience makes up for most of it. Would have appreciated newer sheets though. The three main drawbacks are: - Very warm in the room. Hard to keep windows open when the rubbish vans arrive at dawn - nasty smell in the bathroom, and mould in the shower - staff not very welcoming - almost rude. You feel like a nuisance, and the waiters are seemingly bothered to take care of the room guests But with the location and the price, this is fine as long as you have moderate expectations of the standard.

Only look at the most recent reviews as they are relevant to current condition of this property. It seems that this place must have changed ownership during COVID period, because it has gone decidedly downhill from reviews in 2018-19 that give this place a rating in the 8s. Location is great, but beyond that the place is shabby. We booked for two nights, but left after one as my wife and daughter couldn't stand it. Not a hotel. Sent message to manager to try to get money back for night we didn't stay. No response.

You can’t beat the location and the price tbh! However, the place wasn’t really clean. It was insanely old. My door handle and that actual lock came completely off LOL! I went downstairs and the property is run by the waitstaff? They said the head guy was gone for the day so their was nothing they could do about my lock being gone. Ummm what?! Luckily another waiter was able to help. Honestly if you are just looking for a place to crash, it’s fine. If you are looking for any customer service I wouldn’t choose it

Great location on the main market square with friendly staff and a large room, although you get what you pay for. Room was shabby and in disrepair, the curtains were torn, there was a broken sofa bed in the middle of the room not in the description or the photos. The shower did not drain, the windows were missing panes, and their phone number has been disconnected for weeks making the property unreachable (which they noted they were aware of). It was a budget friendly option, in a great walkable location and we did not spend much time in the room but it is NOT as nice as decorated or assembled in the photos.

The likes - location of the property, the views from the room and the size of our room, which had 3 beds. The staff were nice. The dislikes - immediate dislikes were the smell in the toilet area, flickering lights, open man hole in one of the bedrooms, some lights not working. The kitchen area, and things in the kitchen are very old (toaster was in the oven) and there is no kettle (apart from a HUGE one on the stove, that would take forever to boil). We didn’t even want to open the cupboard doors. Key to our room also opened the restaurant door. Lounge was badly stained. We are 2 women travelling and this place had only male staff. They just seem to be unaware of how to present a place, mainly for the dated and dirty things around. When we arrived we questioned whether to stay or try and find somewhere else to go. After our dinner (as we arrived late afternoon) we managed to find another hotel and ended up just leaving (around midnight) with nobody aware of this as there was nobody else in the place (we assume). The next morning we went back and handed in the key, which surprised the staff member we gave it to. It really is a shame that this place isn’t updated. It would not take much to change a few things and give the kitchen area a good clean. Unfortunately this was an expensive part of our trip, given we had to change location, but we felt it totally necessary. We would not recommend staying at this location, not until it is changed.

This was the worst room I have stayed in. No Maintenance. The safety security light out side our room at the top of the stairs did not work. The front door Handel on the inside of the room was nearly falling off. The bathroom shelf was also falling off. The man hole cover in one bedroom room was ajar/open. The bathroom had 4 lights but only 2 worked. The lounge area has many lights but only one worked. There were two light stands with no gloves in them. The ceiling light was 3 down lights, one missing, Two not working. The main bed was in the lounge room, no issues but the light was a chandelier more than half the lights were not working. Other than the servers lack of lighting, the main room, lounge and bedroom had windows facing the Markt square, there was a lot of light from the square coming in, plus there were outside spotlights on the window sill pointing up to highlight the building from the outside. The issue here is most of the light came into the bedroom. I found 2 curtains in a wardrobe, and even so I think more were missing. The bits to re hang the curtains were missing so they could not be hung and therefore the light came into this room all night. The room was so light you could not use this bed and bedroom.
