It is probably one of the few good hotels in what it is a terrible town. Handy because above the train station. A bit short on staff but they are nice and polite. Rooms are good, yet with dreadful soft squishy pillows. Bit overpriced too, but quite comfortable.

Pity about the evening

Everyone at the hotel was nice but it’s ruined by the obnoxious chap who runs the bar… they advertise it’s open till midnight. Came in about 10.30 and having a nice chat with another couple. Got served then the bloke disappeared, returned once to serve the other couple after a long wait then didn’t reappear till 1145 to announce that its midnight and that the bar is shut and ‘no you can’t have another coffee’. Bloke was dishevelled and looked like he’s been sleeping. Mercure is a good brand - I expect much better. I won’t be returning!

We arrived at 2:30 PM, hoping to either check in early or at least drop off our luggage. At the front desk, a young lady was deeply engaged in an epic conversation with someone — so engrossed, in fact, that basic human customs like saying “hello” seemed to have been abolished. Two other staff members were in the breakfast area: one vacuuming with headphones on like a DJ at a cleaning rave, the other busy with chores. After 15 minutes of quality time staring at the unmanned reception desk, another guest arrived with a key issue, went hunting for staff, and — jackpot! — found someone in an office. This person immediately helped him first, while we were still perfecting our “patient guest” posture. When we pointed out we’d been waiting for 15 minutes, we got a curt “Check-in is at 3 PM”. Apparently, in this hotel, time travel to 3:00 is a requirement for customer service. We had booked a “Privilege” room at €253 — which, for that price, should at least come with a smile. Instead, we got the staff’s undivided attention… to their phones. The next morning, we discovered the shower soap dispenser was a proud, empty monument to forgotten housekeeping. For an Accor Group hotel, this was a four-star experience only if you count the stars you see after banging your head in frustration.

Toujours enchantée de mes séjours dans cet établissement ! Emplacement parfait (tout à portée de main à pied) ; équipe très professionnelle et accueillante ; chambres immenses et propres ; produits de bain de qualité ; literie ultra confortable ; bons équipements (bouilloire, frigo) ; petit-déjeuner de qualité (on peut même faire soi-même ses croissants façon gaufres !!). Testé le buffet et le petit-déjeuner en chambre (avec léger supplément). Les 2 délicieux et bien fournis. La piscine chauffée sur le rooftop est un formidable atout pour faire d'un court séjour un dépaysement total.

Arrivée à 1h30 du matin avec deux bébés, chambre très sale, oreillers avec odeur de cheveux donc pas lavés, wc salle de bain pleine d’urine et de cheveux et les lits bébé demandés par téléphone dans la journée n’y étaient pas. Nous avons dormi à 4 dans un lit double !!! La manager nous a changé de chambre + a mis à disposition les lits bébé le lendemain + nous a offert une bougie. Néanmoins, l’état général de propreté de l’hôtel reste médiocre pour un 4 étoiles. Le seul plus est la piscine en rooftop mais toujours pleine avec très peu de transats constamment occupés. De plus, le lendemain chambre pas nettoyée car le monsieur qui fait le ménage a peur des chiens. Il nous a uniquement posé les serviettes à l’entrée. Pourtant les chiens sont admis dans l’hôtel donc c’est l’incompréhension.
