Excellent staff. Friendly, polite, helpful, very professional. Food was great.
We want to single out and express our thanks to Sharon at the front desk for assisting in making out stay here at the Island Inn a truly wonderful experience.
Beautiful hotel. Our room was right by the pool. Very nice. Staff was not helpful at all. They couldn’t check us in when we arrived because WiFi was down. Staff gave no instructions on anything. They handed us a paper with meal times. No assistance with anything. We had never traveled to Barbados and thought perhaps the check in staff would help us navigate to some excursions. They also weren’t friendly. Never smiled. Just a smile back would have been something and made us feel more comfortable. The food was amazing! Never had a bad meal. Enjoyed the bar and rum tasting they offered. We like the family like feel with other guests as the hotel was not full.
The drinks were so good that I never made it for breakfast. Lol! The lunch and dinner were good though. This resort is for more of an older crowd, and everyone there besides me was retired. I enjoyed my stay there, the staff is friendly and helpful, the bartender Trey is hilarious and entertaining, and the manager is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to.
Ønsket å bo på lokaleide hoteller, de ønsker ikke soloreisende damer. Service var forbløffende dårlig, jeg følte jeg var «til bry» for personalet fra jeg kom inn døra. Mest eldre par som bor her, bittelite basseng, all inclusive. Tre retter å velge mellom (fisk/kjøtt/vegetar). Maten grei nok, men servicen utrolig treg.

Disliked: Staff & service
The only staff member that was friendly and welcoming was Crystal, the evening bar tender. I was by the pool and there were 3 guys in our room repairing something along with a cleaning lady for almost an hour. When they left, I could not figure out what they did because it was not evident at all and the room wasn't cleaned by the maid who was in the room. I straightened it up. Hours later, about 4:30 as we were resting for dinner, a maid shows up to clean the room. I told her not to bother as it was too late now. She gave me the dirtiest look. If you kindly ask to sit in the shade for a meal instead of the sun where they want to put you, they roll their eyes at you and their body language shows they don't appreciate having to move a place setting from one table to another. I had to wait for the desk lady to check out as she was eating in an air-conditioned room in the back. It was evident she was mad at being interrupted to check us out. I guess they didn't have anyone else who could do it. Wow!??
I was pleased to find that my room was clean and comfortable, with air conditioning that worked well. The staff were courteous. The only drawback was the limited dining options, but given the hotel's intimate size, this wasn't a major issue.
Nice resort, food is really great. The beach is very close and the bay is beautiful

Review of Island Inn, Barbados:
The property itself has potential: the colonial-style buildings are charming, and the location is excellent—just a short walk from Pebbles Beach and Carlisle Bay. Unfortunately, everything beyond the exterior was disappointing.
Cleanliness was a major issue. While the bed was made daily, the rest of the room remained dirty throughout our entire stay. Basic maintenance was clearly overdue, and it showed in several areas of the room and facilities.
The staff experience was even worse. We were met with rudeness, unfriendliness, and an attitude that made us feel like our presence was an inconvenience. Nowhere else in the Caribbean have we encountered hotel staff who seemed this unmotivated or uninterested in their guests.
The food didn’t help redeem the stay. Although the hotel offers all-inclusive dining, the quality of the meals was well below expectations—definitely on the lower end for an all-inclusive resort.
Overall, Island Inn has a great setting but fails dramatically in service, cleanliness, and food quality. We would not stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a large, clean, comfortable room. We also loved the variety of food available at the buffet dinner and breakfast. The staff was very courteous and attentive to our needs.

Hotel a little rustic although being small was intimate and friendly, it definitely had a certain charm. The entertainment was excellent.
The hotel was charming. The room was quite spacious as was the bathroom. We liked that the toilet had its own door off of the main bathroom. We did not use the tub, but the shower was large. The beds were comfortable, curtains allowed us to sleep in after a long travel day. Terry at the bar was friendly and had advice on things to see during our stay - Harrison Cave was worth the trip. The food was good, breakfast buffet had a good selection. We did not eat lunch at the Inn. Dinner was ok, although the staff was a bit mechanical - asking for an additional pad of butter seemed an imposition- and after dinner tea was late enough arriving to be evening tea in the courtyard. The live music Saturday was a pleasant surprise and made for a nice way to spend the evening.
We first visited this small boutique hotel some 20 years ago it was very good then and continues to be so now.
The food and bar service in this all inclusive hotel were very good and the bedrooms comfortable and kept very clean. There are also weekly evening entertainment programmes which were well received by the guests.
The older staff were on the whole excellent with a very positive customer focus; however, it must be said that some of the younger waiting staff members should not be in the hospitality industry, this in spite of the high level of training they received.
The hotel is situated close to excellent beaches and the capital Bridgetown. All in all access to the whole island is easy from the Island Inn with a myriad of taxis and busses all being close.
Room was great size and clean. You must smoke outside, and there are a lot of smokers, so sitting outside or opening your door is sometimes not possible. Food is excellent at all 3 resorts. Getting to The Sands was easy by public transit, Mango Bay, is an adventure. Mango Bay was not taking their sailboat the day we went. I wouldn't count on any water sport availability at the tree resorts. Carlisle Bay is great for swimming and snorkelling. Access through a road beside the Hilton gives you access to Drill Hall Beach where there is surfing and access to renting a surf board, or taking a lesson. I did enjoy the Island Inn but it is a very different holiday from staying beach front the south coast.

This is a quaint little hotel, I like the fact that it is quiet and that you have the opportunity to meet and socialize with other guests.
The rooms are spacious with good working A/C and Re very clean.
I have no complaints about the food the menus is varied and always a few choices. The small servings are perfect so there is no waste.
The surface of the walkway between the main dining area and the rooms is made of bricks, unfortunately some have lifted and you have to be careful you don’t trip. Just be aware!
The beach is absolutely beautiful the only downside is that you have to pay for a chair every day but you don’t have to you can always use a towel to sit on, but it would be nice if it was included in the hotel package.
Overall we enjoyed our stay!
We chose the island inn for our honeymoon. We will always remember our stay here. The staff went above and beyond for us. Special shout out to Tre and Terry, our bartenders, who we kept very busy. We made many friends with the other guests, and it was a wonderful intimate setting. Our room was cleaned every day, and the inn was kept very clean generally as well We didn’t need for anything at island inn. Highly recommend.

The air conditioning was excellent in room 22. Bathtub shower didn’t work and was not fixed while we were there. We did have a walk in rain shower however we would have preferred the handheld tub shower! Room was spacious and bed was firm but comfy! Meals were good, buffets were somewhat predictable and got a bit boring as the week went on I did discover that you could order a few things from the kitchen like eggs cooked your way or French fries at lunch etc. The menu meals were very good with a variety of options. The dining staff were lovely and the other guest were friendly and the atmosphere was very intimate ( you quickly got to know everyone). I only have one area that I was somewhat disappointed with and that was our service at the bar we were often overlooked while others were served before us and often we had to go looking for the bartender. Overall our experience was very good and we would recommend this location to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing time away!
