"We stayed for one night while on a motorcycle tour and decided to stay here as it had parking for the bikes. Staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean. Breakfast seemed a little on the small side for variety but it was self service so you can go back up for more. The hotel was around a 40 minute walk into town but there's a bus stop outside that you can get."

"Had an issue w/ washing machine, advised they’d resolve, delayed their help then apologized they had forgotten about me after 40+ minutes of my original request. Requested extra towels for room and had to ask twice. Tv in room was stationary at 3’ - 4’ off the floor and only viewable from left side of bed. Woman at desk who took our added towel request blamed the non-delivery on other staff vs taking responsibility for her lack of follow up. Will advise friends planning to make a similar trip like ours to absolutely avoid this place"

"Breakfast very good but second day was a bit tepid Curtains were moth eaten and cobwebs on curtains and ceiling. No bin liners in any of the bins Bar prices are expensive Staff are very attentive "

"This establishment gives a hotel-B&B vibe. It’s not quite one or the other in this picturesque town. As a solo traveler, I found the room cozy and spacious. The wardrobe was serviceable, and the room provided two luggage racks, which were helpful in organizing my belongings. The hotel could use improvement in service, though. On two separate occasions, when I asked for a taxi, I was told to find their list of taxis and call myself. I have been traveling 10 months straight, and many four-star hotels call taxis for you. My hotel room’s walls were thin. I could hear the couple in the room next to me laughing and talking. Still, the hotel provides a hearty enough breakfast to keep you going for several hours. And my stay was enjoyable enough that I would return."

"We first visited the Salutation Hotel 29 years ago as a wedding venue and it was a premium location then. Getting the opportunity to stay there again now, we were excited to see it again. Unfortunately, it isn’t what it once was, although it was eerily familiar as little has been done to maintain or upgrade it over that time it seemed. However, there were redeeming features apart from the trip down memory lane. These included a very good hot breakfast, with an excellent manager (female) running the process, a reasonably well stocked bar with hotel prices although not too exorbitant. Easy check in and out, and finally a good location. Let down by overall condition of the hotel, especially what was supposed to be a superior twin room. "
