Hotel was okay, a little old but it was clean and safe; it needs some TLC. The gentlemen that greets you at the reception was very nice and professional. I read previous reveiws about this location and the reception gentleman must be the person the other reviewers wrote about stating how nice and professional he is. Worth the stay for a low cost.

Very old. It was clean, but a lot of bugs, and very dated. Breakfast was ok at least. Check in, check out was fast. Bratislava is small, so around $10 for Uber. Very limited English...Ok for overnight budget sleep, nothing more.

Das Dreisternehotel war adäquat ausgerüstet, das Personal war nett, das Restaurant und das Frühstück Standart. So viel zum Positiven. Das Hotel ist in der Lobby und im 6/7ten Stock eingerichtet - in einem Mehrparteienhaus. Das führt dazu, dass schon der Zugang zum Parkplatz nicht eindeutig geklärt ist. Auch beim Zugang zum Haus - Schilder in Englisch fehlen - ist unklar, wie man an welcher Stelle reinkommt: Das nervt auf Dauer. Noch nerviger war der Krach der knapp 20 polnischen Gäste, die nachts Stunden lang grölten und Türen knallten. Das hat aber auch was damit zu tun, dass die Räume stark hallen: Ein paar Teppichläufer könnten hier helfen. Leider machen allein die Feuerschutztüren eine Menge Krach. Größtes Manko in dem Zimmer 731: Hier gibt es bei 32 Grad Außentemperatur keine Klimaanlage (sogar Hostels haben einen Ventilator), sodaß man sich nachts ebenfalls kaum erholt, da sich die Hitze in den oberen Stockwerken staut. Wahrscheinlich hat unser Vormieter deswegen nachts die Balkontür offen gelassen, mit der Folge, dass das Zimmer voller Mücken war. Meine Frau hatte in der ersten Nacht über 30 Mückenstiche! Dabei hat der Balkon eigens einen Moskitoschutz, den jemand offensichtlich nicht nutzte... (wahrscheinlich um wegen der Hitze nachts die Tür zum Balkon aufstehen zu lassen). Die zweite Nacht war nicht so laut. Als ich danach beim Frühstück saß, dröhnte plötzlich ein Presslufthammer: Straßenarbeiten gleich neben dem Hotel. Das Hotel kann ich so niemandem empfehlen.

A satisfactory hotel serving the local area.

The staff are mostly lovely, although there is a very small minority who taint the overall ambiance. The accommodation is off a standard and clean. But in the height of summer be sure to get a room with AC as the accommodation is on the top floor and the roof acts as a heat sink. The surrounding area offers basic amenities and there is a convenient nearby bus station. What is lacking are local dining opportunities. This can be troublesome at the weekend when the hotel restaurant is closed for functions. A good breakfast however is included in the room rate and is available 7 days. If you need to be in this part of town then the Modena makes perfect sense, but if you want to more freely explore Bratislava city I would suggest moving closer to the centre. That said taxis are available via apps and are very reasonably priced. Bus services are efficient, regular and cheap but you need to understand the ticketing system which unusually is time based.
