The street getting to this place is very rural and tight with no lights and we quickly realized that it would have been impossible for us to drive in and out of it easily at night. The Ridges Resort on Lake Chatuge

10/10 Excellent

"beautiful property & views right on the lake. back of property. lakeside, especially nice and well maintained. Overall very good experience, friendly & helpful staff, nice updated/renovated room with great comfortable beds, large HD TV & excellent shower and bathroom. Older property and building which still needs more updating, maintenance & renovation - especially parking area, hallways, and some other common areas. Roof repairs being conducted when we stayed there in early October. Amenities & restaurants somewhat limited but very nice and mostly easily accessible. Would describe more as a lodge than "resort" but still overall good property, conveniently located with great views, Some road noise due to close proximity to local highway 76 however, minimal distraction or problems. The Oaks restaurant small but very attractive. Good food, drinks, specials/happy hour, service and some nice "extras"/surprises but a little pricey for dinner."

"The views are amazing. The suite is very nice even though it is older, has everything you need. We were on the what they called ground floor which still has several steep steps to get to te room. Our last night there they had more guest staying on the top floor and it was very loud you can hear them walking around and noises coming from the top floor. They woke us up about 5 am walking around. It's very loud."

"This property would more appropriately be called a motel. However, it was everything we needed for our plans. Good location for our purposes and a very good price. We arrived later than expected but the proprietor was very accommodating and pleasant. One thing I really want to commend them for may sound odd, but it matters to us: there were blankets on the bed, not just a sheet and comforter. It amazes me that high end hotels will charge a lot of money for beds with no blankets, just heavy comforters that are too hot in the summer and when you throw then off, it is too cold with just the sheet. This sweet little place had nice blankets - old school and thank you!!"

"The view was phenomenal! We arrived and were given a 2nd story room with a balcony and the view was of the Blue Ridge mountains. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rebecca was on her way to Walmart and asked if we needed anything. My mom had previously purchased a memory card for her camera and was unable to get the package opened. Rebecca took it to Walmart with the receipt and brought it back to us with the security package removed. That is going above and beyond! We will definitely be back! Thank you!"
