Completely welcomed in Marblehead.

This is hidden gem of a lovely quiet old house, down a small driveway, run by Lisa and Bob. These 2 are welcoming, friendly and engaging instantly making us feel part of the place. The location is an easy stroll to the harbour and old town with it's fantastic history including the USS Constitutions stay, the Glover Regiment and much more. Its a short drive to the "neck" where there are lots of lovely homes and a great view back of the harbour. The house is late 1890s but renovated, spacious and comfortable. The included breakfast was simple but filling but what made is was the time we had chatting to Bob and Lisa over all manner of topics. Their advice on things to see and do in our short few days was invaluable and appreciated. We hope to go back one day.

Cozy B&B in Historic New English Coastal Town

Our First stay at a B&B, we were a little nervous about being face to face with the other guests and in keepers. We were instantly put at ease by the warmth and friendliness of the good people we met. It was like meeting old friends. The house and gardens are something out of House Beautiful or Better Homes and Gardens. I found my home on the couch in the parlor. If you are a reader, writer or just want to spend time sitting in a beautiful spaceC this place has a vibe that welcomes. The room was clean and neat with a comfortable bed and it is quiet there. I have not slept so soundly in a very long time. We loved it, we recommend it and we will be back. Take a minute while you are in Marblehead to check out The Abbot. It’s a historic building that houses the massive painting “The Spirit Of ‘76” which you will recognize from every history book. It is stunning in its original creation housed there in this quaint new England town.

Trip back in time

Bob was wonderful but never met his Wife(family wedding). Great location in historic Marblehead. Brought back memories of an 11 yo boy and his grandparents.

Very nice spot for a weekend in Marblehead

Bob and Lisa were great hosts. This property is in a bit of a strange location, but its walking distance to the shops of Marblehead and to the ocean. but there is no view from the property of anything scenic. its very clean, and they are very accommodating. parking is not so great. while they had a tree come down in the yard which hasnt been fully addressed. apparently it was a ginormous tree.

Such a gem!

Had a wonderful stay in Marblehead. Lisa and Bob are so great hosts and make you feel like home. Had so interesting talks at the breakfast table (breakfast is really good by the way). The house is situated in the historic district of Marblehead just a few steps away from the harbor, you can do very nice walks there. It's also close to Salem. I'll surely come back!

Superb family home with wonderful hosts.

Could not have found more friendly, welcoming and charming hosts - wish we could have stayed longer!

Nice and near the water

it is actually farther from the airport than it is stated on the website. But it is a very nice bed&breakfast and the owner Bob and Lisa are very nice and accomondating. The back yard is steps away from the water front and it is very nice.

Not for us

The concept of a shared bathroom is not for us. It really didn't work as you don't know what the other parties' scheduling is. Owners and location could not be nicer. Although the house is beautiful, our room it was quite small.

I didn't know until I got there that it was a B&B. But I'm not complaining. Bob and Lisa were wonderful.

Three thumbs up if I had three thumbs

Add my name to the fans of Bob and Lisa. Exceptional service, very friendly, laid back, very helpful, cheaper than most, all in the beautiful, historic center of Marblehead. Like walking through a New England version of a small Italian Riviera town. Rooms a bit small (or very cosy, depending on your preference), but immaculate; you might hear movement from neighboring rooms (honeymooners beware). Bathrooms pristine. Basic, but good, solid breakfast and lots of it; if you love seafood, they'll arrange a real New England feast.

make new friends

Had a wonderful stay with the Bob & Lisa. Didn't spend much time in the room, as the hosts were so accommodating and friendly. Small tube TV with vcr hanging from a wall. There are no locks for the guest room doors, and there is a common bathroom shared between the two guest rooms. Not entirely sure how to handle bathroom towels for multiple guests -- no drying racks or extra towel holders, nothing marking "room 1 or room 2" in the bathroom, no hamper in the guest room. Breakfast was custom-made-to-order and was plentiful, as the owner and I sat around talking and eating.

Wonderful inn in Marblehead!

I loved staying at the Harbor Gardens Inn. It is a very wonderful bed and breakfast located in beautiful Marblehead. Although I needed to arrive late due to my arrival at Logan, Bob and Lisa were very gracious about staying up to greet me. My room was comfortable and beautiful and the shared bathroom experience was not a problem at all. I loved eating a delicious breakfast (with a homemade blue berry muffin, in their sunny breakfast nook and Bob took the time to show me photographs and give me a map of Marblehead so that I had all the info I needed to head off on a fun photo walk before I needed to leave . When I left, he gave me a cold bottle of water to take with me, which was also much appreciated! It was a marvelous experience and I absolutely would stay there again and recommend it to my friends and family, as well as anyone who gets a chance to visit marvelous Marblehead!

Close to perfect

My room was clean, quiet and delightfully furnished. Hosts were helpful, friendly and downright good company. Breakfast included the best blueberry muffins in the universe. The price for my stay was if anything too low. The Inn is within easy walking distance of grocery store, pharmacy and every good restaurant on the harbor shore. As for sharing the bath, that was no problem. I share a bath at home, and it's not as nice as the bath I had at this B&B. I hope that too many people don’t discover this place.

Absolutely delightful!

Bob and Lisa were warm,friendly and so helpful in every way. The room was comfortable and spacious. In the morning breakfast was laid out and special requests were happily cooked up. The location was ideal and we were able to walk to restaurants and around the town making it easier to get to know Marblehead. Would love to come back in the summer. Thanks so much for a perfect stay Bob and Lisa!

The best of Marblehead

Beautiful home, nicely kept, smells good! Comfortable bed, accommodating innkeepers, very friendly and warm. Excellent location, near the water and Fort Sewall, nice walking neighborhood. We will go back, did not see enough of Marblehead because we were spending a lot of time with family. Convenient to Salem. Ate well at the Barnacle in Marblehead.
