"When we arrived we were met by Leo who was our contact for the entire stay. He was our bartender, waiter, and tour guide. Leo made our vacation memorable, he went above and beyond. The resort was beautiful and all the employees where friendly and did everything to make sure we were comfortable and happy. When we go back to San Ignacio we will be staying at this resort again. The food was amazing."

No air conditioning, a horrendous access road, and overpriced mediocre food with zero alternatives due to the remote location. Most importantly — we lost a canoe and were left stranded on the other side of the river. The resort had no staff available to retrieve us. A neighbouring resort rescued us free of charge while Mystic River prioritized finding their canoe over stranded guests. They charged us...

And while not a nightly occurrence, having howler monkeys howling the first evening really set the tone to remind me I wasn't in California. "We had an amazing stay at the Rainforest Retreat. Theodocios, our assistant at the Rainforest Retreat was an excellent guide and his wife, Francelia cooked delicious breakfast and dinner that was included with our stay. She also does laundry. We stayed one night there in the Eco-Pods and the 2nd night at the Chaa Creek Lodge. Docios shuttled us back and forth and provided excellent guidance."

"Clean, quiet, and inexpensive option convenient to everything in San Ignacio. The manager, Hugo, was on site and very helpful during our stay. The kitchen area was well stocked with dishes and utensils and was nice to have available. AC worked well in the rooms and it was a relief to have the option to cool off at the end of each day.
