"Very pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent location."

"great location and nice quality as Malmaison always is, not all that keen on the rooftop restaurant though"

"Place is very close to the train station and right inside one of the gates of the York city walls. My only complaint is that we booked the hotel choosing the “pay at hotel” option as we are travelling as a group of friends but one person was doing all the booking, but they charged us on the reservation credit card before we arrived, rendering that option completely meaningless to us."

"Loved it!! Amazing location!! Awesome shower and room for 4."

"Our room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. The staff was very kind. I did Not prefer that it is your responsibility to select to have your room cleaned & freshened (the day before you want it cleaned). I feel that a 4 star property should automatically provide daily housekeeping to some extent."

"The apartment was very clean"

"The apartment was excellent, well appointed and in a good convenient central location. What let it down was the parking. This was 20mins walk away, but this was not made clear until after we had booked. Also the check in procedure for the parking was difficult. It took us an hour to get this done. To be fair once we gave up trying and rang the owner he sorted it out immediately."

"We had a really lovely stay. The apartment is in an excellent location, within easy walking distance of both York city centre and the train station. Despite being so close to the station, it was surprisingly quiet and we couldn't hear the trains at all. The apartment is in a modern, well-maintained building and was beautifully decorated throughout. There were four of us staying, and it felt spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay. Our only suggestion would be to...

"Good"

"Nice room, breakfast ok but coffee was terrible. Parking is a long, long way from the hotel."

"Good location central to most places in the city, staff very pleasant and very helpful. Breakfast good and service quick and helpful."

"Had a day visit to York with friends. Upgraded our room to deluxe. One of the nicest rooms we have stayed in! Lovely staff, conveniently a 10 minute walk from the station, but out of the main hustle and bustle of town. Lovely breakfast. Beautiful old character property and would have no hesitation at going back and recommending to others."

"Very nice hotel"

"Central location"

"A lovely historic property well-located to all of the York sites and walking distance from the rail station. The rooms were large and nicely appointed with most modern conveniences one would need. It’s a lot of steps up and no one to help with bags, so keep that in mind. Had dinner in the pub one night. A bit of a warren of small rooms and some of the staff was not well trained or didn’t understand English well, but the food was hot and tasty."

"A boutique hotel experience for budget hotel price. Perfect location with a lovely view from the room, so clean and comfortable. And the staff are so friendly, they held our luggage before check in and after check out. The breakfast was included with the stay and was delicious PLUS included lattes. We had a truly amazing stay, I wish I could give 6/5 stars!"

"We really enjoyed this hotel, great staff and breakfast. Good location easy walk to attractions. Hope to return someday. Recommend highly. No lift, so try for lower floor when booking."
