Great location on the banks of the Rhine River. Several wooded walking trails from the hotel. There is a water filtration pump station right next to the hotel that gives off a foul odor, which is unfortunate.
Staff was very friendly, helpful and accomodating. Room was good.

It is wonderful! On the Rhine! The rooms are beautiful and the restaurant is outstanding! I had a wonderful plate of Wiener schnitzel and my wife and daughter had fish and loved it. The waiter who served us, originally from Croatia spoke excellent German and what not only a good waiter, he was very funny too.
I highly recommend the Waldhaus!

LOVELY LOCATION, CLOSE TO BASEL CITY FOR MEETINGS IN THE INDUSTRIAL AREA. NICE VIEW OVERLOOKING THE RIVER. VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF. SAFE PARKING. GOOD FOOD FOR DINNER. THE ONYL THING I WOULD RECOMMEND IS MORE GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS. THE BREKFAST COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER AND INCLUDED MORE OF A SELECTION OF CHEESE, MEATS, FRUIT ETC
I WOULD RETURN AS IT HAS A LOT OF POSITIVES PLUS EVERYONE WAS SO PROFESSIONAL AND DOG FRIENDLY. IT WAS NICE TO SEE A VARIETY OF DOGS.

Beautiful spot on the river
This was a great spot to stay near the town of Birsfelden, outside of Basel. It’s a beautiful hotel that looks very traditional on the outside and is tucked back into a nature preserve and on the river, but inside, it is modern and updated. The staff were all excellent, and the beds were comfortable. There was some noise from outside the hotel that woke me up because they were doing some construction, but overall, it was a great place to stay. I will say that the food in the restaurant could have been better. I’ve never had fish and chips with salmon!

An excellent experience
It is a beautiful hotel in a lovely location close to the river Rhine with excellent forest walks. We found the route from the French border to the hotel complex as is took us through the town centre, it is far easier to pass through via A2 and travel to the hotel back from Pratteln.

Das Hotel liegt schön ruhig in einem Wald direkt am Rhein. Sehr schöne Terrasse wo man gut frühstücken und essen konnte. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und alle unsere Wünsche erfüllt
