"Perfect place to stop on skyline drive! Feels like camp in the best way possible. We loved the lodge and fire place! The bar room was fun and had good food for a quick bite!"

"better than imagined. I read the reviews before and they gave bad impressions. the price for the room on a weekend's night was too much. we decided to stay here because of its location which saved us plenty of time driving up and down the mountains. however, after checking in, the room was much better than expected. it was quite clean. there was a big screen tv and a heater that worked well. neighbors were nice so i couldn't hear any noise at night. the staff was so-so in terms of helpfulness....

"I loved the character of the historic Inn. Very clean and comfortable. I didn’t eat breakfast at the Inn, but I did eat at the Speakeasy and it was delicious."

"Rustic and fun. Be aware there is zero cell reception once you get close. You are indeed in the mountains!"

"This was an older motel, but had been updated and freshened up. It was clean and comfortable. Good location. Adequate for a one night stay."

"When we first check in, we were at the automated machine check in with two staffs who were very helpful. Then, we were told to go across the room to get our parking pass. There were two people there. The one entered the data was being helped by another staff. That person failed to disclose and explain the details to free lunch the next day. She said that the resort is building up new construction and all we had to do is provide feedback for it. She even said that if we didn’t show up, we...

"Property wasn’t quite as nice as the pictures depict. Older house that has been remodeled. Original flooring not level in areas. On a side note there are very limited choices in the area for breakfast and dinner."

"1st nt, Got in late abd the sent me to an unlit very dark hallway where I could not even see the room number. No shampoo. Room shabby. Complained and gave me a very nice clean room for the next nights. No shampoo"

"Wasn't very impressed...It was clean for the most part. It's ok for a quick night's rest...Hard to figure out the entry from main road...No elevator...No luggage carts...Price was reasonable...Was close to the areas that we we there to see..."

"Kind people and gracious place!"

"Super friendly staff and they served my delicious complimentary pints even though their pub had closed earlier. I'll go back and highly recommend them!"

"This inn is old and historic. Passed down through many generations. It was interesting and Uncle Charlie’s room was comfortable. Breakfast was good not until 9am. They now have a full time live in innkeeper which is helpful. Convenient to Vineyards/wineries, JMU, Massanutten and breweries. The beautiful Shenandoah valley can’t be beat for scenery!"

"The property was absolutely gorgeous and the hospitality was fantastic! Everything was clean and tidy."
