"We have been staying at the Equinox for years when in town for a horse show. Unfortunately, the property declines in condition and management every year. Walking in through the back of the hotel to check in, you're immediately hit with the smell of mold. The front desk staff weren't overly helpful or friendly. This year we had a very odd room requiring us to carry our luggage up a couple flights of stairs both in the hallway and once we opened the door to our room. I imagine that room being difficult for many. The room itself was fine. Relatively clean. Very comfortable beds. Nice, crisp white linens. The bathroom/vanity area are large but VERY dark making it super challenging to get ready. On a positive note, the air conditioning worked well - other years they have had to put in window units. In the year 2026, the rooms should also have smart TVs that allow for streaming.
Positives..... Beautiful location. Easy drive to the horse show. The back deck/fire pit are a perfect spot to grab dinner/drinks. The absolute star of the show was the bartender Jayden. He could not have been more accommodating. 100% service with a smile. Helped us get seating for a large party on a Saturday night and provided superior service - to include offering to fill our water bottles as the hotel/resort doesn't offer filling stations. He truly made our stay!!"
"The room was nice and very clean. The bar and waitstaff were friendly and helpful. The biggest disappointment was the outdoor patio/fire pit area because management said that there was a problem with the gas line (but it's been out for at least a week or two), so it was dark and cold on the patio. They did nothing to help rectify the problem when in fact there were at least 30 people trying to enjoy the outdoors. Many requests were made for management to assist, but nothing. It took the friendly bar staff to come up with a solution. She grabbed lanterns from the inside tables to brighten up the darkness - this made people want to stay longer and enjoy drinks with friends. She made the difference that night! Her name started with a "P" and deserves recognition for making a decision that night."
"The lady who checked us in was nice and very helpful, the room was perfectly clean, beds made. Seen a few people staying there with their dogs, the parking lot has alot of spaces available and there's a vending machine for drinks and snacks in the lobby. They also have breakfast between 7:00am-10:00am it's not the best but it's still good and filling!"
"Room was clean. Staff helpful. Didn’t get a chance to have breakfast either days, the system of pre filled form for breakfast didn’t work for us. Didn’t get a chance to go to the bar"
"My grandfather was a Bauhaus trained architect, so I love the mid century modern vibe - great memories! Clean, cute, friendly spot, and close to horse show. I’ll come back!"
"Nice quite place to stay the night. No second floor, so there was no chance of being disturbed by people walking above you. Clean room, including the bathroom.
I liked that it had a mini fridge so we could put food in it that we brought with us. There was also a separate freezer where I refroze my ice packs over night. Very handy.
I didn't have any food to reheat, but if I had, the microwave would have come in handy.
I did use the coffee pot for coffee in the morning.
I took off a star because honestly, the bed could have been better. It creaked when you moved, and the mattress was kinda hard. My daughter thought the same. I slept on top of the comforter so I had more cushioning.
I was tired, so I slept about 10 solid hours, then woke up to my back hurting a lot. I got up and took tylenol, and moving around making coffee helped relieve the stiffness in my back.
The proprietors were nice people. I guess the motel is owned by a family. The price for the room was fair for my small travel budget.
Overall I would recommend this motel for a short stay. Just bring a mattress topper if you have one, and maybe extra soft blankets to sleep on."
