The Fallon Hotel

"As a solo woman traveler, safety and cleanliness are really important. The Fallon Hotel fulfilled both -- a quiet downtown with the young family owners in residence. The bed linens and towels were immaculately white and the bed super comfortable. Also important to me is avoiding chain hotels where each one looks like the last. Travel should bring new experiences. The Fallon Hotel comes through again, a huge old building in a historic old town along the Susquehanna River. And it's a great opportunity for people who love old buildings to get a glimpse into one family's dream project (a big one ....). I think some rooms are more restored than others and the one I had still needed a few minor tweaks. But I loved the original sink and bathtub, the light fixtures, etc. I hope they continue to "lean" into and restore these special features that make for a true historic hotel experience. I'll definitely stay there again."

"We were a little worried at first, the place is smaller than it looks it pictures. The hallways are a bit narrow however when we got to our room it was roomy and neat. We soon fell in love with the charm of the hotel, the nostalgia. Our bathroom had a tile with a slot to discard used razor blades. All the doors and moldings are original and kept well. The staff was pleasant and attentive when needed. If you want a more modern feel 200 ft down the block is the Penn-wells Lodge which amenities can be used if desired from either place. The Mary Wells Restaurant was the best we found in town, it was fine dining which was impossible to find anywhere within 25 miles of town. It was fine dining also without the price tag, our meals were reasonable. The hotel also has music softly playing from a bygone era which adds to the feeling of going back in time."

"We enjoyed the room. The patio was below and people were enjoying the patio, playing very loud music. Shortly after 10 PM we requested the music be turned off. Staff complied with our request. Desk staff was pleasant and helpful."

"The hotel is a unique property that artfully blends history with modern amenities. The rooms are well appointed. The staff is helpful. A group of us stayed and were able to room hop and enjoy the different spaces. This is a new favorite hotel."

"The morning breakfast buffet with eggs and sausage and all the continental breakfast items such as juice, water, coffee, bagels etc. Was excellent start to the day. The room was very nice, did not have a small refrigerator in our room. Double bed was comfortable with nice light with two electric plug outlets right on top of night stand. Parking was right there. Staff was nice and informative."
