Excellent service and food. The finest dining we enjoyed during our whole trip. The breakfast is top tier also. The attached spa (pool, saunas, etc) is a huge added bonus. The staff are friendly and attentive. Conveniently located to visit the leading tourist attractions such as Neuschwanstein, Zugspitze, and so much more).

Stayd for 3 days. Enjoyed the atmosphere and possibility to have breakfast outside in the nice garden area. Cosy bar for a last drink in the evening. Quite place with tiny rooms and plenty offers for indoor activities around wellness and welfare. Perfect place for relaxing short holidays. We have in mind to come back.

Kamer oke, bedden goed, badkamer vreselijk. Slecht: de toegangs deur draait langs de wasbak, dus je staat altijd in de weg, Oude badkuip met zeer lage douchestang. Staand douchen problematisch door ruimte gebrek en ronde vorm bodem bad. Toilet in dezelfde kleine ruimte. Ontbijt middelmatig tot onvoldoende. Weinig keus e de aanvulling van de diverse aangeboden etenswaren gebeurt niet. Dus vroeg komen.

Der Wellnessbereich mit Pool und Sauna ist sehr schön und großzügig. Das Zimmer ist relativ klein und zweckmäßig, aber geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Zu bemängeln war hier die Sauberkeit. Der Boden war sandig, es knirschte beim Gehen. Der größte Kritikpunkt war das Abendessen. Beim Einchecken könnte man sich das Abendessen zusammenstellen. Allerdings stehen auf der Karte keine Preise, was mich an ein Halbpension Angebot denken lies. Das Essen war dem Rahmen des Hotels nicht angemessen. Der Salat war nicht frisch und auch bei der Suppe und den anderen Speisen hatte ich den Eindruck, dass es sich um Tiefkü.hlprodukte handelte. Der Service war sehr bemüht und freundlich. Die Rechnung für das Abendessen, die ich nach dem Essen erhielt, war für das gebotene Essen extrem überteuert! Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier absolut nicht. Das Frühstücksbuffet war ok, wobei nicht nacggefüllt wurde.

Wir hatten ein Upgrade bekommen, allerdings war der Wellness Bereich zu unserem Aufenthalt kaum nutzbar.. entsprechend der Information ist dieser bis 22:00 Uhr geöffnet und am 20:00 Uhr waren alle Lichter aus, der Pool war sowieso in Wartung. Hat leider unsere Erwartungen nicht erfüllt.

Begeistert war ich vom Wellnessbereich im Untergeschoss und dem schönen Garten mit vielen kleinen Sitzgruppen. Das Frühstücksbüfett war überschaubar aber ausreichend, frisch und lecker. Das Personal im Frühstücksraums war höflich, aber leider etwas sehr distanziert und kühl. Das Personal an der Rezeption und die Zimmerfrauen sehr freundlich und entgegen kommend. Das Hotel ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die meisten Zimmer wurden aber scheinbar saniert und liebevoll her gerichtet. Was allerdings sehr unangenehm auffällt, ist das in vielen Bereichen noch ein Teppichboden liegt und mache Räume dadurch stickig wirken. Ohne diesen ollen Teppichboden wäre der erste Eindruck viel positiver. Insgesamt war ich mit meinem Aufenthalt im Johannesbad aber sehr zufrieden, hatte ein schönes Zimmer, mit modernen Bad und Balkon zum Garten. Vieles war fußläufig gut zu erreichen und bei schlechtem Wetter gab es im Hotel nebst Wellnessbereich viele Möglichkeiten sich die Zeit angenehm zu vertreiben. Auch den Hol-und Bringservice, zum nächstgelegenen Bahnhof, bei der Anreise mit dem Zug, möchte ich lobenswert erwähnen. Aber aufgepasst beim Buchen, leider gibt es tatsächlich auch noch winzige Zimmer im Altbau unterm Dach, die man eher einen kleinen Pension zuordnen würde und nicht in einem 4 Sterne Hotel. Die Minibar war übrigens leer und wird nur auf Bestellung bestückt. Wenn man dann auf dem Zimmer Durst bekommt, zahlt man für einen Flasche Sprudel über 7,

Im Grunde ein sehr schönes Hotel. Leider sidn einige Zimmer sowie die Flure doch arg in die Jahre gekommen. Die renovierten Bereiche sind allerdings sehr gelungen. Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Ein sehr gutes Frühstück und ein schöner Spa entschädigen aber. Und die Gegend ist ein Traum.

What would you wish more than paradise on earth? A spacious garden to stare at the full moon, fancy sauna spaces to dream away in, a rare jewel of a library to enrich and lift the spirits and a most amazing cuisine to indulge the taste buds. Bad Kohlgrub might not be as well known as Garmish or Oberammergau. Yet with this refugium it becomes a place of peace,and beauty.

Das Zimmer war groß, geräumig, freundlich und im "bayrischen Stil". Jedoch war es sehr hellhörig, man konnte jedes vorbeifahrende Auto hören und auch die Zimmertüren auf dem Flur knarrten und jedes Auf-und Zuschließen war zuhören. Somit kein Hauch von Erholung möglich. Das Frühstücksbuffet war in Ordnung aber leider immer recht vergriffen und nicht schnell nachgefüllt. Der Wellnessbereich (Schwimmbad) ist modern und stilvoll eingerichtet, bietet auf Grund von Corona jedoch nur Platz für 4 Gäste gleichzeitig. Meine Erfahrung mit der Rezeption des Hotels sind leider bedauernswert. Auf Grund von gesundheitlichen Beeinträchtigen musste ich eine Nacht früher abreisen als geplant. Auf meine Nachfrage ob mir diese Nacht kulanter-weiser zurück gebucht werden kann wurde mir entgegnet das dies auf Grund der Richtlinien des Reiseportals (Hotels.com) nicht möglich sei und ich mich direkt an den Veranstalter wenden muss. Gesagt, getan und der Veranstalter war mit der Stornierung einverstanden. Die Servicemitarbeiterin des Reisportals rief beim Hotel an und teilte dies mit. Das Hotel verneinte darauf trotzdem die Stornierung und behauptete immer noch das es nicht an ihnen liege. Kurz um: Das Hotel zeigte keine Kulanz und versuchte es auch noch so aussehen zulassen, als liege die Schuld beim Reiseportal.

Tucked away in Bad Kohlgrub, this hotel is a hidden gem. Reasonably priced, with a ton of amenities. Typical European scheduling at the front desk (i.e. closes at 10pm and there is no night shift). The parking lot is very small (again, typical for Europe) but as we were on motorcycles we had no issues. The on-site restaurant is also very nice, and the food is well above par. Of particular note is that the breakfast in the restaurant is a mix of European-style with some Americanisms thrown in (scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage were available), which was a pleasant surprise. The entire hotel/restaurant looks like it is kept very clean, or was recently renovated, or both. The outdoor seating area furniture all looked new, and the overall arrangement is conductive to gathering around the table with friends at the end of a long day of vacation activities.
