It was disturbing that there was a false fire alarm that went off around 4:30am one morning. We couldn’t get back to sleep after it was cleared and wound up leaving earlier than expected.

Thank you for your review Ralph. I wish we would have known about the issue with the HVAC system while you were a guest in the hotel on May 16th so we could have addressed the issue and corrected the problem for you.
The oceanview room was great. The room was clean and the bathroom had plenty of towels and toiletries. The king size bed was a little lumpy but did not interrupt rest. The staff was great also. Easy access to restaurants. The in room coffee maker did not work.

We enjoyed the Lite-fare snack place that had views of the ocean. Good food, kind staff.
The 2-Queen room was a bit larger than an average room.

I asked for an upgrade and they told me no. When to find out the people behind me asked for and upgrade and they received it. I also asked them to move me to another room because my door would not securely close like the rest of the doors and I told her I didn’t feel safe and they would not move me so we had to sleep with a cart against the door and a chair for safety. Loud not from construction woke us up outside the balcony

Thank you for your review. We reached out to the hotel and verified that there were no upgrades for a King room on May 1st. The hotel has alerts posted on the webpage, at the registration desk, and in the guest rooms about the exterior construction.
The only saving grace is it is right on the beach. The rooms were horrible. We had a ocean front room with balcony and whirlpool. The whirlpool had mold around the jets and was unusable. The “balcony” is about 18 inches wide. You can put a chair on it sideways but not looking straight out towards the ocean. Forget about sitting out there with you SO with a cup of coffee watching the waves. Speaking of the view, we had a wonderful view of the movable platform the contractors used while replacing caulking on the sliding doors. We complained about it as soon as we got there but they had no other options available that night. The next day they said they had another room available and would let us know when we could move. Said it should be about 15 minutes. After a hour I called the front desk and gave my cell number so we could go out to the beach. About 30 minutes later they called us to move. Went to the second room but, there were people staying there already. Back to the front desk where they gave us another room. This was on the eigth floor so we had a nice view for the evening. We were woken up in the morning as the contractors were working on the floor above us using grinders. I guess they were cutting out the old caulking but the smell and sound was horrible. And our nice view turned into the lower bodies of contractors. I’m not going to get into the cold breakfast buffet empty waffle mix. Even the free cookies were burnt. It was the worst hotel experience of my life.

Valerie was awesome at check in. During the first nights stay we encountered bedbugs. The manager on duty wasn’t to concern about and her first option was that we could leave the hotel. Leaving wasn’t really an option. We did switch rooms, however, it pretty much ruined the trip for us.

The hotel had their pest control specialist inspect all rooms: 223, 317, 321, and 323. There were no problems found in those room. According to the hotel, the room changes were completed with over three nights left on your reservation. regards
Larger than expected. Clean. Wanted to go to restaurant for dinner but having a wedding reception. They're currently renovating but didn't affect our one night stay.

Had only one elevator operating and it was really annoying getting up and down to your room. It was people waiting as long as twenty minutes. Everyone is not able to take the stairs. With all the guest that was there that could be a fire hazard.

Well we were not told they were under renovations before we booked. Had to use public beach access . Housekeeping opened the door to our room the morning of check out at 8 am. Rude! Then knocked on our door again at 9:30. Damn give us a chance the room was ours till 11am

The beach was nearby and that was a big plus!
Also we paid 172.00 a night and breakfast was not free. There should have been complimentary breakfast. Also people cleaning windows near the room which was not good. Also the elevators were not working. Other than that everything was good and we are planning to come back.

Location was very good! However they were having construction on outside on walls widows during are stay noise early morning.Also problem with shower drain.Informed desk said they have some body check in to it. Day later still standing water in shower.

We had no idea construction was happening. Early morning drilling woke us right up.
The air conditioning unit was very loud when it came on. The drain in the tub was very slow.

Front desk staff was more interested in talking with other staff about their day then checking me in left the desk had to go back to ask what room to go to I told them at check-in I wanted no housekeeping the very first morning I was there made Knox walks in I'm not even dressed then on top of that one whole day of my stay I listen to a dog bark all day across the hall from my room when I approached the front desk about it the front desk employee Melissa was excellent could not ask for any better while I was discussing the dog and other issues with her the manager who I later found out was the manager came up behind her never spoke to me never apologized never anything and I have messages that he messaged me while I was in my room as if it were my fault for wanting customer service then he wanted to move my room because of the barking dog it was not my place to change rooms when I was not the problem he gave me a breakfast voucher which I declined I had to leave at 5:00 in the morning before the breakfast started he wanted to give me a dinner voucher I had dinner plans finally I told Melissa the front desk associate that I felt $50 off my room was appropriate the manager finally did that but never once did he speak with me face to face and I have messages if anyone would like me to send them to you will not stay at this property again thank you very much

Unfortunately, the information provided is inaccurate. It was another member of our management team that offered to move you to another room. You declined stating that you should not have to be inconvenienced due to anther guest's barking dog. She apologized again and offered the breakfast vouchers. The manager did in fact apologize to you. He came out while you were "talking very loudly" to the front desk agent. He waited several minutes after he apologized unfortunately to see what he could do to make it right for you. When the conversation with Melissa did not stop, he stated he was going in the back to print off Dinner Vouchers as you stated that you were leaving at 530am (not 500am as stated in these comments). When I returned to the desk, you were already in the elevator still being heard in the lobby. That is when you were addressed in Kipsu. It was during another conversation that you had with Melissa when you stated that yeo just wanted some money off your room. This was a wonderful hotel in a great location. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The room itself, pool and gym were all very clean. I would definitely stay there again.

The overall experience was enjoyable; however, a drawback was the unexpected fishing restriction on the pier, especially considering the pier on the property was a factor for me choosing this location. Prior knowledge of this restriction would have spared me from bringing unnecessary fishing gear. Nevertheless, I had a positive experience and intend to return in the future.

Thank you for the terrific review. Fishing restrictions were put in place several years ago by the ownership of the hotel for safety and security purposes. There is always fishing on the beach or on the sound.
