"Seems to be a struggling hotel. Double bed was two singles pushed together. and not comfortable Heater in bathroom and hall were permanently on despite hot weather. General decor is tired and reception staff not very engaging although they send too many messages through Expedia. The fire alarm going off repeatedly after midnight was not good. The restaurant was entirely respectable with good service and decent food. Not that busy even in July. The gym and pool are good too."

"The food was excellent both at the pub/ restaurant and cafe and the staff were friendly. We have travelled a lot and I’ve never felt so mis-led about a property. The hotel has no access to the lake or the lovely grass yard in front of it. It is almost completely enclosed by a 6ft high fence with “no access” signs all over it that are pretty much what you are looking at. Also, there was no fridge or coffee maker (even tho they roast coffee on site!) in our room and the little store and cafe...

"The staff were lovely extremely helpful. The hotel does need a bit of an upgrade things like towels were clean but very worn and thin. Bring your own. Restaurant food was good and breakfast was traditional."

"I booked this hotel for a stay for my husband’s birthday, thinking the price would be worth the experience. I was wrong. Pre-arrival was promising from the reservations team wanting my partners name to personalise the stay and I also booked a room upgrade and some cupcakes for the room on arrival. We took our dog and to be honest I he had a better time than we did. The upgraded room 304 with balcony was very nice I must admit. With a nice view of the loch. There was a nice bed, bowls and treats...

"It was handy for a local wedding but that’s really the only positive I can mention. The room we were allocated was right above the lounge area facing into the carpark and was the least soundproofed room I’ve ever slept in. We were woken up at 6.45am on a Sunday morning with loud music coming from the breakfast room down below meaning after a wedding we had no lie in. "This Preier Inn is in a great location - fairly easy train ride into Glasgow and quick access to head north of the city. The property is nice. In a heat wave, there’s no good way to cool the place down, so after one hot day, the room was too warm for the rest of our stay."

"Paid almost £300 for one night including dog fees, and it was nowhere near worth it. The room was tired and poorly maintained, with mould around the windows, damp, cracked walls and tiles, and dirty-looking carpets. Dinner and breakfast were both overpriced and disappointing. The only saving grace was the lovely staff and the beautiful location. We only stayed because we’d driven a long way with our four-year-old. Sadly, we wouldn’t return or recommend it at this price."
