Charming

We liked this place so much, we stayed an extra night. Love sitting in the courtyard in the afternoon. Lovely breakfast. Charming owner. Plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance. Feels like an authentic town, not just full of tourists.

Lille og godt hotel.

Dejligt lille familie drevet hotel med god, stille beliggenhed midt i byen hvor vi nød opholdet. Venlig, rar og imødekommende personale. Gode, pæne og rene værelser og dejlig morgenmad. God lille atriumgård og en dagligstue til fri afbenyttelse. Wifi kunne dog ikke nå vort værelse på 3. sal længst væk men virkede eller upåklageligt alle andre steder. Et hotel vi gerne kommer tilbage til.

Lugar encantador

A estadia foi perfeita, a casa é linda, os quartos super confortáveis, as roupas de cama e banho de excelente qualidade. O café da manhã foi preparado gentilmente pela proprietária, bem antes do horário estabelecido, pois iriamos sair muito cedo. A única surpresa desagradável, mas acredito que o erro tenha sido do hotéis.com., foi com relação a reserva. Através do site efetuei uma reserva para 4 pessoas e a acomodação sugerida informava que o quarto acomodava os 4, porém ao chegar ao local essa informação não estava correta. Tivemos que arcar com os custos de mais um quarto, por sorte havia disponibilidade, porém não deixou de ser desagradável, já que não estávamos preparados para essa despesa adicional.

Great time in the Douro Valley

Armamar is a Amal Cory but the mood is nice and this is somewhat central to visit Douro Valley from Regua to Pinhão.

Un endroit exceptionnel

Ce petit hôtel est un bijou. Propreté, chambre très confortable, salle de bain avec toutes les commodités, décor soigné, salle à manger coquette, petit déjeuner préparé avec soin. Personnel souriant et très accueillant. Bruno, notre hôte, est entièrement dévoué à sa clientèle et à l'écoute de ses besoins. Il nous a aidé à planifier notre journée en réservant une croisière sur le Douro et en nous proposant des sites à visiter. Excellente situation géographique pour quiconque se déplace en voiture pour visiter la région. Paysage à couper le souffle. On nous accueille avec un verre de porto sur la terrasse. L'ambiance est chaleureuse, relaxante et propice aux rencontres et aux échanges, ce qui contribue à enrichir notre séjour. Je garde un excellent souvenir de cet endroit et le recommande fortement. Un merci tout spécial à Bruno!

Bruno the owner and Anna receptionist were friendly and helpful with good tips on what to do. Douro valley is superb and only 15-20 minutes drive away. Bruno recommended a great local restaurant with superb grilled lamb dinner. Quinta do Popa was a great winery we visited, don't be put off by the steep driveway - the view was superb.

Très bel établissement situé dans une maison dans la vieille ville. Un certain luxe (non ostentatoire) maison de pierre, planchers de bois nickel, décoration soignée; Accueil chaleureux et dispo. Outstanding Guest house. Five stars plus !!

This is an outstanding guest house equivalent to a 5 star hotel but with more ambience and the very personable Bruno as your host and wonderful staff. There is a reason why they have won so many awards. The guest house has been beautifully restored, with a very comfortable court yard, large sized rooms and bathrooms & very lovely lounge with books, magazines, television, and board games. The morning breakfast is a gastronomic delight with fresh fruit from Bruno's farm plus local bread meats,cheese and jams. The guest house is located in a small town, maybe a little out of the way, but very convenient for touring the Douro Valley area. If the Douro Valley is your destination do not miss the opportunity to stay here - you will not be disappointed.
