Our only real complaint was our room #31. I understand old hotels don’t have lifts, so it’s a long way up to the top floor with luggage. Our room had water damage around the windows. "I loved this place! Everything was fantastic. My room had the largest bed I have ever seen. The place was spotless. Great hot water, big shower with an amazing rain head. Loads of room. Fluffy towels. Nespresso machine.i wish there had been shampoo, conditioner and lotion. I find that shower gel is not a great shampoo. "Balmacara Hotel was one of the best properties we stayed at in Scotland. Wish we could have stayed longer than our 2 nights because our view was AMAZING! We had a breathtaking view of Loch Alsh, the mountains around it, and a very clean, spacious room. The staff was very friendly, and so helpful even assisting with our luggage. We were able to rest up after our scenic trip from Inverness to Kyle, then had a fantastic meal downstairs in their restaurant, with another beautiful view of the Loch...

"Wonderful place, wonderful people. The staff was so friendly and helpful, as were the other guests. The kitchen and common living space were especially spacious and humongously homey. The only downside was that the road near the close-by fairy pools was filled (unfilled?) with potholes- which really has nothing to do with the hostel and I don’t need to note that in this review. 10/10, I’ll definitely be staying here again next I visit Skye- which is ASAFP (As Soon As Financially Possible)."

"My husband and I stayed here as part of our two week trip in Scotland from the United States. This was one of our favorite hotel stays! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurant/bar was excellent. We really appreciated all the extra little amenities that came along with this room. I would recommend this as a great place to stay if you were looking to travel to Skye for a day."
