The reception was immaculate, staff very helpful and as ever the Van der Valk hotel was suoerb
Lovely hotel on the edge of Mechelen. Shame about the building work opposite which has been going on over a year and looks like it will not be finished anytime soon. Parking is in the nearby multi-storey. Walking distance from town, many places to eat.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL
It says nothing on the website to warn guests the hotel is currently in the middle of a building site. We were woken every morning by heavy machinery outside our room. No safe walk into town for anyone with mobility issues. Despite warning of a food allergy, the kitchens ignored this, wiping out 24 hours of our stay. The management remained indifferent to these concerns. Terrible customer service.
Must stay! Such a beautiful and historical hotel. Clean and comfortable rooms with high ceilings. Gorgeous grounds, with seating by the water outside. We stayed here while visiting for Tomorrowland and it worked out perfectly. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend! Parking can get confusing with the construction and stuff so make sure to park in the large parking garage and walk over the bridge next to McDonald’s to the main entrance of the hotel.
the hotel is good, close the the city with a very nice team members.
the bathroom wasn't ideal and the surraonding is full of work (arranging the road and parking).
I am a frequent visitor. I like the hotel, breakfast and dinner are ok/nice, beds are good. I had a quiet room inside the hotel with a pool view, that was nice. What they really need to fix is the shower; there is almost no strong jet of water in the shower, really annoying. For the rest it is a good place to stay.
Minibaren indeholdt blot to små flasker vand.
