Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
I liked the proximity to transportation and restaurants. I was disappointed with the room as I chose a more expensive suite to have a refrigerator/freezer, as described, and this room had no freezer.
Got there by car, parking was full so I had to park 15 mins walks from the hotel. Very busy and big hotel in middle of other high buildings. Rooms were clean and breakfast was ok ( food was not very warm). Minibar in the room was empty .Will probably not go there again
Very glad of the room. Very comfortable. Too bad they don't provide water bottles as they did before.
The hotel has an eco-program: when you don't need the towels to be changed daily, put a sign on the door in the evening and you get a 5€ voucher the next day. The idea is great but,
one recurring problem is that they repeatedly "forget" to deliver the voucher. So, if you stay there for say, three nights, and follow the rule, you get only one voucher. I mention this because it happened several times.
Apart of that, it's a good place to stay.
This was our second stay at this hotel, it has been renovated since last time and it was absolutely amazing, we had a great stay, got a complimentary upgrade and received great service from the staff. Highly recommend this hotel when staying in Antwerp.
Great overnight stay on my journey from Denmark to the UK.
Everything was really great.
At arrival I was at first a bit disappointed to find that their parking spaces were full and that I had to go find one outside the hotel, but parking was very easy to come by on the streets outside the hotel and it’s free.
The room is great. I skipped breakfast which is outrageously expensive although it is the same as in the Ibis budget. Breakfast was outstanding until 2021. I'll be back.
I stay here every year, sometimes twice a year but I found that the hotel has lowered a bit its standards. I found the rooms somehow less comfortable with terrible pillows. The new bar is very nice and its staff very helpful though. I hope it will be better next time I come over in October and that they get a few hard pillows instead of the featherlight ones.
Hospitality was overall were good. Although I must say I didn't really feel that welcome or seen at all. When I checked in, the male staff member was occupied with what I assume was friends. And kept chatting a little even though he attended me. Then after flickering keyboard and tapping the mouse several times he took another guest in between. I let all of this happen because I was not in a hurry, environment is very nice and clean. Then he excused himself to me, saying "those people are a little bit special". Okay, the second after a guest leaves its okay to trash talk? Female hospitality worker was completely opposite, service minded and have manners that few others do. Elevators are a prank, we didn't get stuck or anything like it. But during our short stay we had several comments with other guests as well..
Housekeeping raises the grade by itself. 10/10
I have been staying here every October for the last six years and this was my last. Had to wait for four hours from 10AM to 2PM for a room while tens of people were checking out and I was the only person waiting. 4 hours!! And check out time is 11Am (!!!) with 215 rooms. Appalling. But the best was yet to come. Every morning at 9AM the driling made it impossible to work. Mental. Two out of three lifts were stopping on ground floor and did not move, you had to wait for someone to call it from another floor to get another to reach ground floor and start again. The cleaning is embarassing too: Never in 4 (FOUR) days I was given a clean cup or a stirrer for coffee. Never seen before. The 'double bed' is made of two single beds so badly made that you always end up in the hole left between them. Only decent thing is the bar staff, always very helpful and polite.
