Just had a lovely stay for 2 nights, can’t fault it really pleased with our choice of accommodation. Parked on the road outside the first night then parked in a gated car park for the b&b on the second night.

Absolutely perfect! Kevin and Tracey have created such a lovely B&B. The decor, the extra touches like plenty of coffee and tea choices in the room, lovely furnishings, breakfast so lovingly made and Kevin and Tracey are so lovely. They’ve gone the extra mile and have given us the perfect stay. Close to shops and restaurants, transport and lake ferries. We could not have asked for a nicer experience.

Excellent BB with top class rooms and service. All the furniture is excellent quality, the rooms are nicely decorated and the breakfast is perfect. Secure parking is provided and the property is located central to the town. I would definitely recommend the BB as a perfect place to stay.

Outstanding property outstanding hosts in perfect location in the heart of Ambleside. Kevin and tracey are the most friendly welcoming couple. Street parking for free and 2 min walk into the friendly town

Lovely B&B, beautifully appointed and perfectly located. The owners are really friendly, and the breakfast excellent. The bonus of off-site parking was ideal as parking in Ambleside is understandably difficult. Highly recommended.

Everything was top class. Beautiful room. Comfortable bed, toiletries, TV, tea tray all great. Breakfast was high quality. Very enjoyable. Guest house is right in town so you can walk to shops restaurants and good pubs. Highly recommended.

Easily the best

After staying in many bed and breakfasts in Ambleside this is by far the best one. Nothing was ever any trouble and the knowledge of the local area was second to none. Free parking and a wonderful breakfast what more could you want. This is now my go to bed and breakfast in Ambleside. Thank you again for a lovely stay.

Fantastic

Fantastic stay! Very clean room, centrally located and great breakfast. Tracy and Kevin were helpful with maps and suggestions for hikes. I did not bring a car and the bus stop was 2 min walk from the guest house. I was able to get to everywhere I needed. Will definitely be back

The perfect place to stay. We stayed in Room 2 and it was beautiful, very spacious and comfortable. Bed was so comfy, en-suite was wonderful - has the best shower. Breakfast was a highlight, chosen the night before with so many options, we were spoiled for choice, and that’s how we felt very spoiled. Tracey and Kevin are the perfect hosts, friendly, kind, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area which is very helpful. The house is perfectly situated in a quiet part of Ambleside but everything is within walking distance from shops to crazy golf. We hope to return again soon. (Photos of bed taken on day we left - it was perfect when we arrived)

What a wonderful first stay we had! Lovely greeting and check in to our room which was beautiful and so clean. Breakfast was incredible! I ordered the avocado on toast 3 mornings in a row! Kevin and Tracey were fantastic, always on hand if needed. The area is beautiful and the street was very quiet when we were here. Great walks, even in the rain we had it didn’t spoil a thing. The car park was super handy as we drove, very safe and only a 3 minute walk away. We would most definitely return and recommend Melrose guest house to anyone wishing to visit the lakes.

Good B&B would stay there again. Minor gripe on my single room with separate bathroom is the dressing gown was small for me, I am tall, the bed squeaked at the slightest moment and the room was too warm for me but I do like to be cool at night so that's a personal preference, as I say minor gripe that wouldn't stop me staying there again.

Sehr hübsches und geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Zimmer, so wie das gesamte Haus. Die Gastgeber waren ausserordentlich freundlich, es gab ein hervorragendes cooked breakfast. Abgeschlossener Parkplatz in nächster Nähe. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.
