Almendralejo, capital of the Tierra de Barros county, is well known as a cava-producing region and the city of Romanticism: a destination with everything you need for a dream holiday.

The sanctuary known as the Santuario de Nuestra Señora de la Piedad is also worth a visit, with three Baroque altarpieces of great artistic interest. There is also a chapel in the beautiful gardens of Parque de la Piedad.
Next to the sanctuary is the Museo Devocional, a museum with pieces donated by the Church, neighbours and visiting devotees. You’ll find objects of remarkable religious value, such as sacramental books from the 16th to the 19th century, gold pieces from the 16th to the 20th century, paintings from the 18th to the 20th century and vestments used to dress the town’s patron saint.
