It is amazing. We had a great time. It located in the middle of the forest park, easy access to trails. It also is amazingly easy to view ‘sea of clouds and sunset and stars ‘ from its 7th floor top deck.

Walking trails were well marked and good signposting. The staff were really friendly However it rained on both afternoons and there were not enough activities for adults and families n kids. Place is a bit old and dated

Great location, great stay.
Great stay in a beautiful historic building! The service was terrific and the hotel's location is prime. I will note that some amenities could be better maintained (e.g. shower head was past it's prime), but the hotel was overall quite nice and the staff was wonderful. They can help you book the train to go see the breathtaking sunrise (which is well worth the 3AM wake up call, assuming good weather - we were lucky!).

Unforgettable stay at Alishan
Had a wonderful time in alishan. Nice weather. Sakura blooming everywhere. Beautiful sunrise and sea of clouds. Very friendly helpful and courteous Alishan hotel staff.

The building is looks run down, as do the rooms. A better name for it would be "old" instead of "historical", as it looks like it has been poorly maintained and lacks the antique vibe they're trying to advertise. All in all, the room is way too expensive for what it is. An appropriate price would be $50, not $200.

Alishan House was one of the best hotel I've stayed in during my first solo trip to taiwan. Their viewing platform allows one to enjoy both sunset and sunrise view of the forest in the early morning and/ late evening. The star gazing course was a great bonus as one learns about how to spot certain horoscopes before being guided to view them on the viewing platform.

Top of Alishan, Brilliant
its located inside a controlled space within the park so you cannot park your vehicle at the hotel. Have to park at big carpark and take a shuttle bus to the hotel. This initially irked us a bit. But the shuttle was really smooth and taking all our luggage with us was no problem at all. Once there, you can feel the history and grandness .

Only luxurious hotel in Alishan
If you spend much of your time in the hotel, this one is for you. Otherwise, paying at least 2 to 3 times for what you can essentially get elsewhere does not make much sense.

Fabulous!
I stayed in the room in old building which was well-maintained. The hotel atmosphere was superb. Breakfast and dinner had a variety of choices. There was shuttle service to visitor center. If you would like to take a sunrise train, the hotel could arrange the train ticket and shuttle to train station.

Helpful and responsive staff especially the shuttle bus drivers. Workshop on star gazing was a plus plus. View from the rooftop garden and proximity of the hotel to main sights were excellent. However, food quality (buffet breakfast and dinner) and cleanliness of cutlery need much improvement.

Beautiful heritage hotel
Alishan House is a beautiful hotel, the rooms in the historic house are simple beautiful! From a good sized day bed to a little Chinese tea set laid out ready for your use. We loved the rooftop area and walking down the halls with their beautiful old Alishan railway pictures! We were lucky to enjoy a beautiful sunrise from the rooftop. Alishan House was perfectly located to enjoy the boardwalks through the Alishan Scenic Area. Staff can organise sunrise train tickets and offer both a wake up call and Shuttle service to the train. Service was excellent. The staff spoke reasonable English and were very helpful. We took the half board option and very much enjoyed our buffet dinner and breakfast. There was a mix of foods, with a lean towards Taiwanese tastes but now than enough for the Western palate. We marked the room down for two reasons, there was quite a lot of mould in the bathroom... And the room was very hot! We slept with the windows open and were still warm - it seemed the room temperatures were centrally controlled as the thermostat in our room did nothing to change the heat.

Pro -very good if you are there to see sunrise as hotel provides shuttle bus straight to the station - dinner n breaksfast give you good varieties of food - Alishan basically at the doorstep of the hotel for you to explore Cons - as the hotel's name suggest, its a very old hotel - the shower screen were all moldy when we tried to use it. Besides the shower area and the carpet (quite dirty), the rest of the room is ok.

The room is a bit run down. The toilet door cannot be closed properly with water flowing out of the toilet when we bathe. The balcony is a bit dirty and we saw big spiders on the balcony's wall so quite turn off.

A beautiful historic hotel in the middle of the Alishan National Scenic Area, this hotel made taking the sunrise train and exploring the park easy and comfortable. We were able to purchase tickets for the next morning's sunrise train when we checked in. The buffet was okay, but there aren't too many other food choices in the tiny town nearby. The spa massages were also great.

This is the nicest hotel in the Alishan scenic area with a great location and service, but unfortunately is not all it appears to be. our room (#609) had a slanted floor and was somewhat small which are unacceptable at this star class and price range, especially compared to others in Taiwan. The bathroom is also quite small and the shower curtain doesn't go the whole way, resulting in it flooding which didn't dry overnight and made the room quite chilly. My wife found the bed somewhat hard. The included breakfast and dinner were very mediocre and low quality, compared with local restaurants and similar hotels I've stayed at in Taiwan. While the location, roof deck, and staff were nice, it's overpriced for what it is. I was disappointed and wouldn't recommend it.

The only option in Alishan Mountain
Alishan House is the the top hotel inside the Alishan forest. We woke up at 2:50 to watch the sunrise-honestly not sure what the big deal is about that. All sunrises are magical IMO. Then back to the hotel for buffet breakfast and some easy hiking before we checked out. Pros: modern,clean facilities Spacious quiet rooms Can rent jackets (you'll need for the sunrise viewing) Beautiful trails, stunning location Bountiful buffet breakfast Cons: Large tour groups Language barrier (although everyone we encountered was patient and helpful)

Convenient location
Location was great for me. It's just a middle of National park. Easy for sightseeing around. Hotel bus which services from Alishan bus station to hotel since morning until 7-8pm.

Not only is Alishan House located in the most beautiful area (especially in spring with the cherry blossoms in bloom), but also the hotel staff will go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Lilly was beyond accommodating with serving us tea and even helping us find transportation to gather our luggage several miles from the hotel.

아리산은 무조건 아리산 하우스!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
시설, 서비스, 와이파이, 위치 등등 모두 만족합니다. 가격이 비싸긴 합니다만 아리산에서는 무조건 아리산 하우스 입니다.!!!!! 아리산 여행에서 중심으로 잡고 이동하기 좋습니다. 호텔에서 셔틀버스도 계속 운영에서 상점가로 가기도 편리합니다. 신목역, 자오핑역, 주산역 모두 다녀오기 좋습니다. 특히 일출을 보고 걸어내려오면 호텔까지 30여분이면 충분히 내려올 수 있습니다. 또한 호텔에 있는 전망대에서 일몰을 감상하는게 최곱니다. 또한 여기서 예약하면 저녁과 아침이 모두 포함되어 있어서 좋은 부페 식사 할 수 있습니다. 비싼데 그래도 꼭 여기 가세요.
