"I'm guessing the property was built in the late 70's, so looking a little dated in terms of decor, but very clean and well maintained. Staff were helpful, full English breakfast was of a good quality. Basement level standard twin room lacked air conditioning, (ground and 1st floor have aircon, I was informed by the receptionist on departure), but fan was more than adequate, which was essential as we were entering the heat-wave in early July 2026. Only downside was the hum from a generator room...

"Comfortable bed, friendly greetings on arrival, clean kitchen area and lots to offer for breakfast. Fridge in the room which is quiet unlike some places! Hairdryer, kettle and provisions in the room, plenty of plugs, touch bedside lamps, big TV screen, mirror, table and chairs sitting area by the window. Separate Shower rooms compact but very clean."

"I didn’t realise upon booking that the hotel has no A/C throughout, my room was 27 degrees, woke up at 2 am due to it being red hot and went and sat near reception as it was around 10 deg lower than the room, there was a free standing fan in the room which looked like it had done a few rounds with Mike Tyson, then just to top it off the fridge didn’t work at all, and when we reported it nothing was done. For £180 for 2 people for 1 night I could have stayed somewhere with a/c, a swimming pool &...

They requested about the purpose of our stay and on telling them we were there for an event offered us an upgrade on our room. The room provided was spacious with a large comfortable bed - though it was quite high! "Check in was a challenge as I was asked to try a new self check in system on a tablet. 2 staff members just stood there and watched me struggle. After a 6 hour drive in the heatwave it would be much quicker just to check me in as normal by a human rather than doing it yourself. Human interaction is disappearing! Pool,sauna and steam room was great addition to the trip."

"Whilst the staff and facilities were good, I was disappointed with the food. I had the coronation chicken terrine starter.which had a large piece of chicken skin in it. The staff offered me a replacement which I declined and they did not charmed for it. I later asked if I could have fresh fruit for dessert which the said would be available for breakfast. At breakfast the only fresh fruit available was watermelon. I may be picky but I feel that these minor items should be catered for."
