For the condition and location of the hotel - we overpaid at $70 for a Saturday night. The front desk is thru a bullet proof window and the location is sketchy at best. But the shower was hot. The fridge in the room worked. Heat worked great. Maybe a little too well. And we were comfy with our pets inside and not in the cold car.

The property itself is what you’d expect from a Travelodge—cheap, reasonably well kept, NOT a place for a luxury retreat. The basics are all here and worn but functional. Check in was super fast, efficient and very accommodating. My room is thoroughly decent and, for me, a smoking room is a real treat these days. Close to the interstate on the west edge of Albuquerque, it’s convenient to fast food and a convenience store next door. The only negative is the rather large number of homeless folks hanging out on the edge of the property. Nothing rowdy or dangerous seeming but I can see where it might make some uncomfortable. For a business man on his last night of 22 on the road, it was home sweet home enough for a night.

Upon arrival I was greeted my a street full of homeless blocking the entrance.. counter staff was nice.. got to my room.. florescent fixtures were bad and made loud buzzing when turned on.. mattress cover had hardened clear stains (I don't wanna know).. I had to sleep on the top sheet so I didn't have to sleep on the filth.. all night I could hear yelling outside.. this is obviously a bad part of town. Lesson learned.
