This property was a perfect getaway. The views from within and on the balcony were just beautiful. We had glorious weather so that made it even better. The area was walkable to a number of local walks and it was 1km from the village. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if I returned I would try and stay here again. Thank you for such a lovely break

One of my favourite places that I’ve stayed - floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lake with huge sliding doors . Beautiful tree outside that makes you feel like you’re almost in a tree house with all mod cons . Comfortable and spacious with everything you need . Had beautiful views of the night sky on our first night . Just beautiful

Great place

Akaroa is an amazing town with unique French influence As a traveller miss this town at your peril . The appartment was fantastic and highly recommended. Harbour view . Fully equipped . Great bed .great shower . Parking . Walking distance to town . Lots to do . Thanks Mary

Tolle Aussicht im schönen Ort

Interessante Unterkunft mit tollem Blick auf den See. Sehr großes Apartment. Einige Möbel schon älter und abgenutzt - wie z.B. das Schlafsofa. Ort ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Parkplatz vor der Unterkunft nur für geübte Fahrer.

A residential home that has been split into two apartments to stay in; we stayed on the bottom level. The owner was really helpful about getting us set up and helping us to check in early, I loved the surrounding area. Lots of nice homely touches like multiple heaters around the home, electric blankets on the bed.

We stayed in the seaview room. Nice place opposite the water. The apartment is spacious for 2. The queen bed was comfortable but would have preferred a king. All amenities, utensils, cutlery, crockery for cooking were included. There were also some board games, dvds and hifi which made good use when it was raining. There was no cable tv only regular tv channels. Information about the place and things to do was also in the compendium. Mary the host was friendly and made us feel welcome. I would definitely stay a few nights again.

A Mid Winter get away

The place smelt like asian cooking. Fridge had water inside (as it had been turn off before our stay) The dishes and glasses ware were not properly clean and we had to wash everything before we used it.

The place to stay in Akaroa

This is a great location away from the noise of the village but easy walking distance and so close to the sea. Great bedding and excellent facilities

Disappointing

We were looking forward to our stay but found ourselves a little disappointed. We could forgive the godawful colour scheme and dated decor, but we found the cane lounge chairs to be incredibly uncomfortable and ended up sitting on the floor! There were no curtains or blinds in the lounge/dining, so no privacy. There was no soap for the shower, or shampoo, nowhere to hang your handtowel, the milk provided was out of date and off, and we had to ration the toilet paper because there were no spare rolls. There were many signs around the house warning us "not to touch this and that" which didnt make us feel welcome.

A lovely quiet stay with a great view

2 relaxing nights in the property. Weather was average outside but the property was cosy and warm and could still look at a beautiful view out of the large windows. Bed was slightly hard but that's probably comparing to our own. Still a pleasant sleep. The kitchen is well stocked with items - very impressed. Bathroom was tidy and clean and had a great shower. only complaint would be a slightly off smell when we first arrived, maybe a bit of spilt milk or something in kitchen? All good after opening the windows. A great stay and have recommended to family and friends.

Amazing!

Akaroa on the Beach is an amazing place to stay. The view is great and the sound of birds singing incredible. A must place to stay when in Akaroa!
