Older but updated very well. Staff were just great helpful and showed real emotions. No fake stuff. What was best is the dinner. Not a buffet but a set menu selection. Food was fresh and gave the best selection. Each meal had two starters and three salads as well as a main three course selection. We were there a week and no repeats. Cost was low compared to outside restaurant's. Small beach on a sheltered bay. Close to a supermarket and walkable to town. We have been to Crete many times and beats the high end places we have stayed in the past. Would go back again.

Nice hotel outside the centre of town but close enough to still get in easily and with some local shops and tavernas close by as well. Restaurant is very expensive for what it is in the evenings and even the staff are clearly embarrassed about that. OTOH they did lay on a free hot meal for late arrivals which wasn't expected but was greatly appreciated. Staff were always polite and helpful. Breakfast is good. Room was clean, well furnished and had a lovely sea view.

The most relaxing vacation ever

I just had a wonderful 12-day stay at Vasia Ormos Hotel and enjoyed every minute of it. This hotel has the most friendly and most attentive staff I have ever encountered. They take care of every request immediately and go the extra step for you! Beautiful and bright rooms and very clean. The snack bar opens right after breakfast which is very convenient. The garden is just amazing and creates a soothing atmosphere, and the view on the little bay is something you wish you could take home. I am planning to go back there...

I stayed at this hotel in Crete and the experience was truly excellent. The property is beautiful, well-kept, and always clean. Everything works flawlessly, and you can feel the efficiency and attention to detail in every aspect. The staff deserves special recognition: professional, helpful, always cheerful, and attentive to guests’ needs. They not only carry out their work with great competence but go above and beyond, showing a friendliness and capability that are rarely found. It is clear that the hotel is managed with great care and passion by an excellent management team, which successfully conveys high standards to the entire staff. A stay I highly recommend to anyone wishing to experience Crete with comfort and top-level hospitality.

Cons: Aircon smells musty and like pee Room looks a bit old and run down Odd shaped pool People claim sunbeds with hotel towels and don't show up, really odd system but there are plenty available Pros: Nice breakfast Good location Nice staff Selection of books around the hotel to read Snack bar was nice Good distance from the city, great travel options. Overall I would go back, but know what you're going for. Is it the best hotel in the area, no, does it fit a purpose and provide a good base for you to plan, go to nearby beaches and have actives, absolutely. Get the breakfast and go out and explore. Would come back

Just spent 10 days at Vasia Ormos Hotel and had a wonderful time! We arrived close to midnight on our check in day due to a late transfer and were welcomed by a very friendly member of the reception team who kindly showed us to our room and then informed us that the kitchen staff were kind enough to save dinner for myself and boyfriend which was a lovely touch after a long journey. The food options at dinner and breakfast throughout our stay were plentiful varied each evening meal. The hotel itself is very clean and our room was immaculately cleaned everyday with new sheets and towels daily. The staff were always friendly, welcoming and helpful with any questions we had throughout our stay. The hotel is quiet so perfect for a relaxing pool holiday, the beach opposite the hotel is small and quiet but lovely for a change of scenery. If you’re looking for more atmosphere, Amoodi beach is highly recommended and within a 10 minute walk towards Agios Nikolaos - you’ll need to book a sunbed (which comes at a charge for the day) but the atmosphere is great, complimented by welcoming staff and great food! The lake of Agios Nikolaos is around a 20-25min walk from the hotel if you’re looking for an evening out with plenty of restaurants and bars with plenty of options on the way. Depending on how much you’d like to see of the area, I’d recommend to hire a car - we did this via the hotel which was very quick, easy and reasonably priced.
