Beautiful luxury resort in exclusive Elounda Bay area. My family and I enjoyed the 5-star service and quiet serene location. Our private family villa was pristine, with private pool and amazing views. The resort pools were beautiful as well. Breakfast and on-site dining options were very good. The only room for improvement would be the hotel beach and club. The stone beach and service were truly excellent, but getting sunbeds was a bit of a challenge since the beach club is also open to the public.

The resort is a beautiful oasis of calm. The staff are charming and helpful and the whole place is so beautifully designed. It is a short walk (5-10 minutes) into the tiny town of Plaka, but it is a town packed with excellent restaurants.

Amazing View!

Beautiful hotel with an amazing view of the sea and Spinalonga Island. Every room has a private plunge pool. Rooms are well arranged and spacious.

Beautiful resort, extraordinary staff, delicious breakfast, thoughtfully designed rooms for families, nice gym and pools, convenient and easily walkable to the beach and town. Truly an extraordinary stay in every way. Kelari Restaurant is delicious and unique, and we had two amazing dinners there with exceptional service and lovely Cretan wine. One of the best resorts in which we have had the pleasure of staying. We'll be back!

Staff were without exception helpful, polite, professional, and extremely friendly. Pool area was stunning and not overcrowded. Room had its own mini pool as well. Excellent breakfast. Main restaurant seemed quite pricey but Plaka village only a short walk where there were a myriad of eating options. Fantastic place and would thoroughly recommend.

This is a really excellent hotel. Not only the staff was amazing alt all times, the entire resort was very well built and comfortable. The owner is local and owns a construction company and you can feel that by how well the hotel is built. There is a funicular lift for the rooms which are built on a steep hill making it very easy to access the rooms. The room has got a great size and the bathroom and toilet are separate and very good. There is plenty of storage space which I feel sometimes is lacking in hotels. The view from the room is impressive and the private swimming pool is quite good size. There is plenty of free water, a welcome pack. The gym is well equipped. The breakfast is excellent and at request some vegan options were available (although not a lot in terms of hot food). There are 2 large swimming pools and the beach is a 4 minute walk. They provide a shuttle to the beach. There are electric car charging points and electric cars for rental.

CAYO is amazing. We spent the first few days of our honeymoon here and I am happy we did. The staff was upbeat, on top of everything, and went out of their way to make sure our stay was everything we wanted it to be. On first night we received the most wonderful cake and bottle of wine as a wedding present. The cake was so perfect that it didn't look real. Plaka, the surrounding town arean, is so quiet and relaxing; no hustle and bustle traffice and noise. If you are looking to relax in a peaceful setting with excellent views then this is the place to be. Eloundas is a short drive with plenty of dining and shopping if you feel like getting out. One negative for some is the beach. If you want a sandy beach, this isn't it. CAYO's beach restaurant (which is a short shuttle ride away because the hotel is not on the water) is called Stone Beach for a reason. While the stones may not be everyone's ideal material, it does make for a very relaxing audio experience when the waves hit the beach. When I am in Crete again I would go out of my way to stay at CAYO, if only for a night. I wish we had spent our entire honeymoon at this resort.

Very pleasant stay (be sure that you are rich)

Overall very very pleasant stay. You will be enjoying a very nice hotel and incredible service and kindness. The beach is crystal clear and very calm waters despite the wind Positives: Service, staff, cleanness (top top), room (definitely get the pool room) the facilities and the views. The food was very good but the desserts (especially choclate desserts) were the worst I ate. For dessert I could only have fruits. The beach bar was clean, they provide towels as much as you want but the beach bar also has its negatives please look at the below section for my negative comment. Negatives: The wind is sometimes unbearable. It is so strong that you cannot stay outside (we visited mid July). The cayo stone beach bar food is absolute abysmall. The service the personnel are really nice they are doing a very great job. But the menu is a disaster. I could not find one thing to order and the prices are 3-4 times the already overpriced neighboring places. For those prices you would expect to have some good food, very surprising. They should check the menu of the neighboring restaurants. The hotel is at the top so you need a shuttle service plus you take an finicular to your room. It is just too much effort to go down to the beach. The area itself is no different than Mykonos prices. For only dinner (2 people NO DRINKS) you pay 100 euros a night!!!!! This is insane like really insane. Also the restaurants at the shore have similar prices. So be ready to spend some serious money here.

Superb service and good food. This hotel stands out from many others in Crete for its location, close to a very pretty village with genuinely excellent tavernas. The island of Spinalonga also adds a lot of charm to the area.
