Kuriftu Africa is a new hotel. The rooms are huge and very comfortable. The free massage included with our room was brilliant. We loved the views over the city and the fresh air. The pool and Gym were also great. There are a few areas which could make it even better: 1) water served at breakfast should be bottled. We were offered tap water initially and asked for bottled water which was provided. 2) some of our food order was cold when it arrived. 3) whilst the staff constantly ask for feedback they struggle to understand comments in English. Overall these are small things. We would definitely recommend Kuriftu again.

Staff were amazing, I mean literally they were super hard working and professional. The food was outstanding, as was the cocktails (hard to find a good cocktail in Ethiopia honestly). The rooms were huge, clean, and comfortable with a great view of Addis Ababa. There is a terrace that overlooks the city, and at night the city look pretty awesome with all the lights. If there was anything that I didn’t like I would say that the pool was a bit dirty. Lots of random things floating around like human hair and other disgusting looking crap. They need to get that figured out because there isn’t much else to do other than the gym (which is quite large) and spa. Overall my wife and I had a good time getting away from the city for a few days.

The room was stinky; it smells like abandoned room that was not cleaned properly and not attended to for few days. Still left over papers and cards from VDay in the room and on the bed! Very disappointing, I had to request a refresh and tidy up of the room. After that, making it worse, there was no hot water in the morning which ain’t a big deal for me but should not happen for the $$$ you pay to stay in. Unlike usual, the breakfast was an absolute let down too except the young-man who was very friendly, helpful and just amazing. Making my stay this time even worse, the checkout process was frustrating. Imagine waiting for 20 minutes to check out at 9am because they took too long to check the rooms for me to leave. Yeah, I used to love this property and my stays there but very disappointing experience this time! And it will be my last stay at this property too. Honestly, nothing major or outrageous but you are not getting good value for your money; not even close. Thanks.
