"If you are not wanting the usual bland chain style big hotels then the Hotel Craftsmen boutique hotel is a must for your Amsterdam visit. Wonderful hotel built in1652 with different themed rooms. We were in the Cartographer. Due to it being a very old building it has a wonderful steep narrow spiral staircase which adds to the charm. "This was a superb boutique hotel for us to stay in. It was quiet and had all the amenities we needed. Lighting was excellent in the room, and all aspects of the room worked well. Staff was friendly and helped in whatever ways we needed. We would stay here again!"
"Very lively area with lots of cafes and restaurants, shops and supermarket close by. Well located. Stairs are challenging for older guests but it’s an old building so to be expected. Staff very helpful with check in and carried bags upstairs which was much appreciated after a very long flight."

"A bijou property that was originally a bridge house with views across the canal. There is heat which was needed as cold this week. Unfortunately there is traffic noise. There is no sink in bathroom but we squeezed the shower gel to cover our hands and then washed our hands in the bedroom sink. There are cupboards for clothes and cups, plates, cutlery and hairdryer. If you like different you will enjoy this experience."

We didn’t eat at the restaurant but we visited the bar quite a bit for some great cocktails, and participated in the hotel happy hour one night before heading to dinner.
