"The property is easy to find and beautiful from the start. There is plenty of parking on site. Check in was easy. Our room was spacious, bright, clean, and up to date with a large closet for luggage and coats/clothes. The bed was super comfortable with nice crisp clean linens and comfy pillows. "Love this hotel which has also had a wee upgrade since being taken over by its new owners recently but still retains its warm welcome for visitors as well as being a popular venue for locals. "We upgraded our room to a deluxe and the bedroom was huge, the bed was so comfortable. The room itself was clean and there was some nice features, it could do with a full length mirror . We didn't have breakfast as we thought £15pp was expensive when you can get it for less in town. We stayed on the 2nd floor and wish we had a top floor room the noise from other residents is deafening. Doors slamming and hearing other people's bathroom water running interrupted our sleep. "The stay at the park in was ok. The curtains in the room were insufficient. With daylight at 4am, the whole room was lit up and made it hard to sleep. I was going to bring up this issue at check out, but was not even asked how my stay was. See attached photos at 4am."

"The Mercure is an older and I suspect much grander hotel at one time. It has a sense of opulence about it with wide staircases, high ceilings and stained glass windows, however there are also signs of aging, i.e. worn carpets, old windows. I think it adds to the charm. The breakfast staff were very attentive and pleasant. Breakfast was typical fare, with adequate choices available. My room was well appointed and the bed comfortable.
