My family and I stayed here for 7 days and made it as our base for our Switzerland trip. I could not have been more happy staying at this hotel. We stayed at the family room where it has A/C and to top it off there is a fan in the room which we used to circulate the air. Mind you, we were here in July - the middle of summer heat. Common complain I read is the noise of train passing by - but, the room seem to have been improved with double pane windows which helped reduced the noise significantly. I barely heard the train and slept vey well after a long adventure. Highlight is just the included breakfast with so much selections! The cleanliness of the room and the nicest staff I have ever encountered in Europe. The gentleman at the buffet greets you with enthusiasm every morning, ask you if you slept well and takes care of every guest that comes in to eat. Oh man and the cheese they have there are outstanding! And! Winterthur is just a charming place with a nice old town you can walk around, not to mention you’re just 5-8 min walk to the station. I love love my stay at Hotel Banana City. One of best stay I’ve had in Europe.

Beautiful property and the access to the adjacent fitness center was a wonderful perk. It lacked a little in convenience but a 10 minute or less walk to the train station was really no big deal. My kids especially liked the family suite setup that gave them separate twin beds.

Recommended for a stay in Winterthur.

Very good hotel in Winterthur: very kind and helpful staff. The room I stayed in was very spacious and clean, with a sober and modern decor. Breakfast was also very varied and pretty good. The location is also good, being few minutes walking from Winterthur station. Recommended!

Good and comfortable for a business trip

Great hotel for a 2 night business trip. Close to the train station for easy travel requirements to and from the airport. Room was good, breakfast choice was good. The gym is next door and is very well equipped, however it is an additional ~20CHF if you don't have one of the premium rooms.

Banana city the hotel was spotless staff were faultless breakfast was good .I upgraded to a suite which was very nice and a big room with air conditioning .It States minibar and bottle water .The mini bar is just a small fridge not stocked up with anything just an empty fridge which is misleading that needs to be changed and when I asked for bottle water I was told you only get it on your first day which is also misleading. The tap water you can drink plus there loads of water fountain around every where you visit which are safe to drink.Train travel is great not cheep but you can buy 50% tickets or unlimited tickets you have to decide what best for you .Make sure you have a valid ticket there are ticket collectors everywhere and if you not got a ticket no excuses they charge you chf 90 plus price of ticket ouch . Went to see Wales play in euros had a great time

Staff were welcoming and worked efficiently; room was clean and much larger than MOST hotels I found in Zürich for much higher prices and which did not include breakfast like this hotel does! The breakfast was EXCELLENT, with a custom, self-serve, espresso coffee machine included. They also had a HUGE selection including made to order omelettes, many breads & cheeses, hot & cold food, fresh fruits. Access to the spa next door which was unbelievable! Huge heated pool & jacuzzi, sauna, showers, and elaborate gym! Price was very reasonable especially compared to all the others which had lower ratings. The trains run to Winterthur often, from Zurich main and also the airport. Hotel is about 10min walk from train station. Wow! I would definitely stay here again!
