My stay at Hotel Salzburgerhof was truly wonderful. The service from all the staff was excellent, and the rooms were clean and well-maintained. The hotel facilities are beautiful and comfortable, adding a touch of luxury to the experience. Breakfast was varied, delicious, and definitely worth trying. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort and luxury in Zell am See.”

Our favourite hotel
The most wonderful part of our trip to Austria. Service was exceptional, breakfast and dinner was amazing and catered very well for vegetarians. The pool and spa were the best place to relax in the sunshine. Everything was perfect.
This is the second time that I have stayed at the Hotel Salzburgerhof. I was lucky to get an upgrade and the room was spectacular. The reservation manager, Mandy, was friendly and professional.
The facilities of the spa and pool are exceptional. There is free parking and complimentary pastries in the afternoon.
Dining and Breakfast offered a multitude of choices. The location is handy for walking along the lake and daily guided hikes are also offered. Just perfect!
Service staff is outstanding especially the man at the hotel bar, however everyone was friendly and met my every need. Just perfection!

Liked: Staff & service
Breakfast was excellent, staff was friendly and helpful, don’t understand the $15 room service fee? No ice available,
It was a very nice stay, but the room and bathroom were too small. There was no coffee machine in the room, one has to ask for it. And if your wife comes with you, you pay double. Not logical.
Other than that, it is a nice and close by hotel.
This hotel is an absolute gem. It has the ability to feel like an old world resort, but modern at the same time. The attention to detail is the definition of understated luxury. Everything from the bath towels and water pressure, to the finishings show that this is a property that cares. Fantastic staff (Christian D. in the restaurant was a phenomenal waiter) and food. The breakfast and dinner services were outstanding. Also outstanding was the spa. Nothing beats heading to the heated outdoor pool, indoor whirlpool and sauna after a day of skiing. Amazing experience and I can't recommend them enough.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
More three star than five star
Booked a junior suite through hotels.com. When we arrived, we were told that we had only booked the suite for one guest. This was booked as a bed and breakfast rate. We were told by the hotel that we had to pay double. Same room. One bed. Double the price.
The hotel itself is more or a 3 star than 5 star. Quite run down and tatty. Staff not at all proactive and quite glum. The spa doesn’t match the pictures. It’s all very faded and worn.
I stayed at Hotel Salzburgerhof, which is advertised as a 5-star hotel, but it didn’t meet that standard. The first room we were given had no view at all — it was on the ground floor with windows directly facing another building, despite having booked a room with a view. The hotel also doesn’t have direct lake access, which was surprising for its category.
After some discussion, we were moved to a room on a higher floor with a lake view, but even that room lacked basic 5-star amenities — it was very minimal. The interior felt outdated and didn’t reflect the luxury one would expect from a hotel of this rating.
Another disappointing detail was breakfast. You are assigned a table and not allowed to choose where you sit — even if there are empty tables with a view. This is quite ridiculous for a 5-star hotel and really takes away from the experience.
Overall, our stay felt more like a 3-star experience rather than a 5-star one.
Smiling and welcoming staff. Super spa, delicious food ,fire-place: it’s like a dream . Worth 6 stars ! The yoga Teacher (Lukas ) is a top level one and an excellent masseur !
This is a lovely hotel close to the centre of Zell am Zee. We got a warm welcome at check in. Our room 231) was huge with a great view of the mountains. The hotel has good leisure facilities.
Some downsides
- breakfast was poorly organised (there was confusion on both days we stayed about our designated table and on the second day they placed us next to the dirty dishes)
- the staff at breakfast were rude (when we explained we didn’t want tea or coffee the waitress laughed at us)
- our room was too hot and we had to sleep with the window open (in February!)
- the signage in the spa area is confusing (perhaps some in English would help)
Overall though a good hotel.
It is actually a 5 star superior hotel that not too many people know.
The hotel is fantastic, the garden is breath taking. Sitting and having breakfast/dinner in the garden is so amazingly peacful. The wellness part is also lovely. Only 1 minute away from Lake Zell. Its a must to go. If you can afford it, than dont even look at any other hotel in this area as there is non to even compare as we took a look to the others when we were there.
