The hotel is not run like four star hotel. The staff is polite but totally untrained. I will not recommend people to go there

Dear Value Guest, I am very sorry to see this kind of reviews, we do everything we can to help the local people get a job and teach them a job I can guarantee that it is not easy. Here in Zanzibar it is difficult to find qualified staff and the government does not accept a lot of expatriate staff, but I can say the guys are working hard to make the guests happy and have a good memory of Uroa. I really hope to see you again here in Uroa one day and show you our effort to teach them has given good results.

Pobre el buffet en general. Falto siempre mango o piña (si se pedia se cobraba aparte) Menú muy repetido y poco variado tanto a la carta como el buffet. Personal con poco dominio del ingles. La energía eléctrica era un tema, con mini cortes e interrupciones.

One week th
Stay was well organized and service was good! Only issue we had was when we arrived at the hotel around 10am (which we told the hotel about), we waited more than 2 and a half hours for our room. Hotel wasn’t that full so think they could have got us in a room early with a bit of effort!

Besviken över det som kallas gym. Skivstång, boxningssäck och en trampmaskin på ca 8 kvm, det var allt. Underbar pool, lång strand. Frukost som innehöll allt. A la carte restaurangen har god mat. Testade aldrig buffén. Stort rum och stort badrum, skön säng fin balkong. AC lagom kyla. Alldeles för långt till stan, det kostade 50 USD enkel väg.

Perfect 12 day stay
My wife and I found the Uroa Bay Beach Resort to be absolutely perfect for our stay. We were looking for a complete relaxing holiday with a few excursions and Uroa Bay Beach simply hit the spot. Friendly personnel, lovely service and wonderful smiles accomponied our complete 12 dY stay. The weather played its part to perfection as well and was just truly amazing. If I were to complain about anything, then I would say that they could make the choices of breakfast a little more variable. That would be it!

It was a brilliant stay with performances each and every night! They need to improve their variety on the buffet for both breakfast and dinner. Overall superb with superb location and good for relaxation.

Relaxing 3 night stay at Uroa Bay Beach Resort
Friendly staff from reception to food & beverages to security. Rooms were comfortable although I did wish that I had my own pillow from home. The bed had 1 pillow per person and a bit lumpy. Location is in a quiet part of Zanzibar - east coast. Wi-Fi only available in reception and swimming pool area - no Wi-Fi in bedrooms. Menus are dollar based so make sure you take enough dollars with you. No ATM or bank in the vicinity. Drinks a bit expensive. Food at local restaurants on the beach were great. Beach Boys a bit irritating when you want a quiet stroll on the beach. Overall enjoyed the weather and chilaxing time at the resort.

Up and coming resort
Revelstoke is a fairly new resort and although it's a great mountain, it is still getting its act together. I think popularity will increase now that it's on the IKON pass. The Sutton is a great choice to stay. It's a bit on the pricey side (kind of equivalent to Whistler), but the convenience and amenities are worth it. Ski-in, ski-out, nice heated pool and jacuzzis. Units are comfortable, but a bit on the small side. Nice lobby. The biggest downside, which really can't be helped, is that town is 10 minutes away by car, so not within walking distance. There is a shuttle (a crazy, light and music disco bus), and Sutton provides free passes for it. There is a small village at the mountain, with a couple of restaurant/bars.

Great place, cannot knock it
The resort itself is great I cannot knock it. very well kept the food is amazing, the evening shows are really good and the staff is very helpful. Want to thank Edson and Ramadan for making my stay especially memorable. Highly recommend

Beautiful beachfront resort at a reasonable price. A bit tough to get to in that it costs nearly as much as your room to get each direction ($50 cab ride to or from the ferry). Food and drinks were good and the pace was just the slow and uncrowded version of reality i wanted for the short weekend getaway!

Mittelklassehotel für Tour-Reisende (Itaca, Kappa)
Hotel mit vielen Club-Ferien-Bucher aus Polen/Osteuropa und Frankreich (Itaca, Kappa). Für Reisende die nicht mit diesen Anbieter buchen eher nicht geeignet. Essen/Trinken eher ausgerichtet auf All-Inclusive Angebot (Qualität solala). à la carte Restaurant mit moderaten Preisen (8-14 $) jedoch Qualität limitiert (ein Ausflug in ein gutes Restaurant in Stonetown lohnt sich...) Am Strand sehr aufdringliche Verkäufen/Tourenanbieter die durchaus auch beleidigend/aggressiv werden wenn Sie ignoriert werden. Zum Glück werden sie von der Security (Maasai-Krieger?? :/)) strikt nicht über die Mauer auf das Hotel Gelände gelassen (angesprochen wird man dennoch aus Distanz über die Strandmauer).

Nice but basic hotel - food lets it down
Basic hotel, nice rooms, lovely beach location (although hassling from beach boys gets tiresome) nice pool. Nothing to do in the days and food was poor which let it down.

overall nice hotel
Beautiful beach.but found it challenging to have a nice quiet moment on the sand as there is always a handful of people waiting to sell you something. Nice pool. food was fair. Food in regular dining area was okay but food at their second dining area ( called alacart) was dissapointing. Service from staff in all dining area was friendly and excellent. Their cocktails had little to no alcohol in them but that seem to be the theme through that island. The room and bathroom was big,comfortable with airconditon and ceiling fan. Felt safe there. Good entertainment after dinner.

Great location, poor delivery
Hotel has a great location and beach. The toiletries are refilled with sub-standard product and not what they say on the bottle, the towels are old and worn and the restaurant servers are obsessed with signatures every minute. Place has a lot of potential but unfortunately leaves it wanting.

First, let me say the staff were awesome at the front desk, restaurant, & spa. My primary issue here was the sub par food & no wifi in the rooms! Only the lobby area had WiFi & it was extremely poor. The room amenities on Expedia include wifi, otherwise I'd have never even stayed here!

Un merveilleux havre de paix et de tranquillité
En voyage de noces, nous avons énormément apprécié notre séjour à l'Uroa Bay Beach resort, un petit paradis entouré de cocotiers et de fleurs. Les femmes de chambre font preuve de raffinement et de sens artistique pour décorer les lits, belle surprise de chaque jour !! Tout le personnel est gentil et disponible. Le décor est somptueux, les repas copieux, et les animations sympas (chaque soir). A partir de l'hôtel on a fait pas mal d'excursions, dont une virée en mer sur un bateau à balancier traditionnel !

Gezellig hotel met erg vriendelijk personeel
Prijs/kwaliteit verhouding is wel slecht. Ik vond het hotel erg duur ten opzichte van de voorzieningen. Buffet is niet afwisselend of bijzonder. Ook niet iedere avond entertainment en overdag is er niets te doen. Water van de douche en wastafel was ook erg slecht. Soms zelfs even helemaal geen water. Meerdere malen aan gegeven maar verbeterde niet echt. Het personeel is wel super vriendelijk en helpt je over al mee. Maar dat is ook de enige reden waarom ik nog eens terug zou gaan.

I recommend to stay in this hotel
Was my best friends birthday and they made a room decoration and a cake for free. Everyday was different cuisine and different performances. Staff are very friendly and we got to meet may nice people staying in the hotel.

Lækkert hotel - men dårlig wifi
Super lækkert hotel hvor man får meget for pengene. Ligger lige ned til dejlig sandstrand og har stor lækker pool. Værelserne er også lækre, og hotellets personale yder super service. Dog skal man være opmærksom på, at hotellets wifi er ekstremt langsomt og kun virker fra receptionsområdet. Så har man brug for at kunne arbejde under sin ferie, er det ikke nemt. Derudover er der ikke andre hoteller lige i området, så med mindre man tør kaste sig ud i de meget små og lokale restauranter, må man spise på hotellet. Deres menukort er udmærket - men en anelse dyrere end det generelle prisniveau på Zanzibar.

The hotel's environment is very nice. the swiming pool and the beach strip is very nice and clean. The food is nice too. The level of the room is still not at the western standarts, but it's still clean and comfortable.

We had a terrible experience in this hotel: 1) The Wifi internet is just fake since it is based on a 3g connection and it does not work at all, we did not have internet from our room 2) this is the only 4 star hotel that does not have a landline phone, so you cannot receive calls in your room 3) The hotel try to scam you on everything, they exchange money taking more than 20% commission and if you want to book a taxi they charge you more than the double of a normal taxi, same story for excursions 4) We have been scammed from a taxi driver that was not in their black list (they don't have a blacklist even if apparently the taxi driver was local and well known in the hotel) and their reaction was simply, it is not our business and tried to sell us a taxy ride for three time of the fair price, scavengers, after more than one hour spent discussing, magically a taxi driver offered us a ride at a price that was half of the money asked from the hotel taxi service, still very high for the distance 5) We considered to extend our stay, but the hotel staff offered us the double of the price that we paid when the hotel was empty.... just ridiculous way of doing business 6) there were kids running and diving in the swimming pool and the staff did not do anything to stop them and imposing the rule of no diving to be entirely fair, the food was ok and the room were clean, no value for money for the quality of the service, change the attitude!!!!

Vackert hotell PRECIS vid vattnet
Hotellet är väldigt fint och ligger precis vid vattnet. Polen är precis så fin som det ser ut på bilderna. Överlag är vi väldigt nöjda med vår vistelse på hotellet. Den ända stora nackdelen är att det är ganska isolerat så man blir väldigt knuten till att äta på hotellet. Om man planerar att äta på andra ställen så blir det svårt. Eftersom hotellet förstår att de har mat-monopol så kostar det lite mer än vad det gör i Stonetown. Vi testade aldrig deras mat buffé eftersom vi tyckte att den var dyr (20 dollar/person). Vill man bara slapp och ha det skönt så är Uroa ett perfekt val.

פשוט חוויה מדהימה!!
מדהים!! אומנם לא המצעים הכי יוקרתיים ולא אמבטיה מפנקת במיוחד אבל מלבד לזה הכל פשוט מדהים! שירות מעולה! אוכל טוב, שירותי ייעוץ לתיירים מעולים! פשוט חוויה אפריקנית אמיתית! מלון שמקדש את האורח, לדוגמא בשביל 15 תיירים העמידו הופעת בידור מרהיבה בעוד שבמלון אחר שביקרנו אמרו לנו שבעקבות העונה הרטובה אין תקציב לצוות בידור! לא לחשוב פעמיים ולא לחשוב שבגלל שזול מדובר במלון לא טוב, מלון מדהים!!

Hotel for tourist groups
This place is a resort with a club arrangement. Meaning bus loads of tourists are coming from time to time and enjoy an animation program throughout their stay. For an indvidual traveler the ambiance encountered is therefore not convincing. Beaches in Zanzibar are public. Apparently therfore they built a stone wall fence to separate Hotel premises from the main beach? You can see this wall only on a few pictures of their gallery only. The nice beach you see there is only visible through low tide. During flood the beach disappears. The place offers two restaurants one with buffet only option. 20 Dollars per adult and 10 for children. The other restaurant is a la card. But in both cases the price is way too high for the food quality. Close to the resort are no options for self-supply. The restaurants in the next village are just as expensive. Those guys know the prices in the hotel too. Staff seems to be recruted from local communities - most do not speak sufficient english and communicating orders was indeed very difficult. Sometimes behaviour was not adequate. Otherwise the site has all exotic atmosphere - trees, plants - and can possibly be relaxing if you accept the flaws mentioned above.

Einfach nur die Seele baumeln lassen
Wir waren als Familie für 10 im Uroa Beach Resort und können das Hotel nur allen empfehlen. Sicher ist die Lage direkt am Strand das Schönste. Ausflüge über die Insel sollten unbedingt unternommen werden (Delfine, Schnorcheln, Stonetown). Das Personal ist herzlich und setzt praktisch jeden Wunsch um. Die Zimmer sind groß und jederzeit sauber. Wer in Afrika Urlaub macht, sollte bitte die Mentalität berücksichtigen. Es klappt schon alles, nur es geht halt alles gemütlich zu (Hakunamatata). Bitte keine Angst vor den sogenannten "Beach Boys". Sicher wollen diese Ausflüge verkaufen und sprechen die Urlauber an. Man sollte normal mit Ihnen umgehen, dann kann man viel erleben und auch von Ihnen lernen.

Disaster level of service in nice location
Hotel in nice location. Rooms need maintenance, but in fact looks bit better then on photos. Hotel staff, especially in main restaurant is horrible. Luck of English, bringing bill in the middle of dinner and permanently removing plates & glasses from table, nothing matter if you have finished or not. Only positive is the other restaurant with Italian menu and great chef. Never come back as don't want to spend money in hotel where staff is not even able to answer your greeting...

wonderful stay
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Personnel very friendly and helpful, but lacked some basic English language skills. Location a bit far from major attractions on the Island, though.

Helt ok, hotellet i seg selv er bra med bra faciliteter, men frokosten er ikke bra, og alt er veldig dyrt. Er du en charterturist på all-inclusive er det nok et veldig bra hotell, men er du en helt vanlig reisende på jakt etter å bli kjent med Zanzibar blir du nok meget skuffet. Det er ingenting rundt hotellet, og du blir litt "stuck" på hotellrestaurantene som er urimelig dyre, og maten er ikke mer enn helt ok europeisk mat. Lokalmat finnes ikke her, og for å finne det må du reise et lite stykke vekk fra Uroa. Utflukter er heller ikke noe de kan. De har mange tilbud på opplevelser, men når alt kommer til alt, blir du lurt/svindlet og ender opp på en helt annen tur enn du tror du har betalt for. Beliggenheten er noe usentral da det ikke finnes noe annet enn andre hoteller i nærheten, og du får ingen autentisk Zanzibarfølelse av å være her.

War im grossen Ganzen zufrieden. Ausser das ein paar angaben wo das Hotel angeben hat nicht vorhanden waren. Wie Fitnesscenter etc was ich finde wenn es das nicht hat darf man das nicht anbieten. Und auch der Transfer vom Hotel zum Zanzibar Airport ist sehr teuer 50 Dollar pro weg.

Billig og fint hotell, dyrt på hotellet
Vi var her på ferie som et par. Håpet på litt mer aktiviteter rundt hotellområdet, men det var så og si ingenting. Hotellet har derimot en slags underholdning er kveld. Fint område, fin strand, MEN ingen muligheter for å spise lunsj etc andre steder, og vær obs på at alt du kjøper på hotellet er DYRT. mat og drikke kan ikke sammenliknes med Tanzanianske priser, og dyrere enn Zanzibar generelt. Det var heller ikke noe treningssenter her, selv om det står oppført som fasilitet på hotels.com. Hvis du er ute etter kun avslapning på hotellet, er dette et greit sted.
