"This was our second stay at The Esplanade and to be honest, the opportunity to stay here again was the main reason we detoured to Zagreb! It was originally built for passengers of the Orient Express and as a result, it has that elegant, old world luxury that is so rare nowadays. Despite being 101 years old, it is immaculately maintained - none of that faded grandeur, it is still very much a luxury hotel. The staff we met were lovely, in particular the extremely friendly and helpful young lady on front desk who offered us a (much appreciated) glass of sparkling wine as we checked in. We arrived late so had a bite to eat in the bistro, though we did dine in the restaurant last time. The atmosphere was elegant, staff were lovely, the food and wine were both great. In fact, we enjoyed it so much, we dined there again the following day. Our room was large, luxurious and very comfortable, had a fabulous night’s sleep. Honestly, I didn’t even bother researching other hotels in Zagreb - for me, there is no other option, I have found my perfect hotel!"
Sheraton Zagreb Hotel

"It may not be the most modern hotel but I had a great stay at Sheraton Zagreb. Very easy to walk or get Ubers everywhere. The surrounding neighborhood is a bit run down. The hotel features the best hotel gym I’ve ever been to, this gym actually has a monthly membership (free for hotel guests) so it’s fully equipped with all kinds of machines. You can even take reformer Pilates classes. The spa is very nice too. I enjoyed the huge breakfast buffet with so many different options. The Italian restaurant Tomassino is also fab."
