The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The lobby bar was wonderful. It is very comfortable to hang out there at night and play cards while enjoy8ng a drink. The room was clean and serviced daily. Our one disaapointment is that our room had no closet or furniture in which to place our clothing. We had to live out of our suitcases on the floor because suitcase rests were also not provided.
A nice and extraordinary hotel situated conveniently in Würzburg centre with an amazing breakfast buffet offering quite some very special and delicious hand-made things.
Parking is close by, but unfortunately rather expensive.
Our stay, while short, was great! The hotel staff was very nice and always tried to make us feel taken care of. The room was clean and cute. We just wished we could have controlled the room temperature a little more.
Super nice hotel with convenient access to all popular attractions, dining and shopping. Quick walk to get to train station. Room exceptionally clean. Only thing missing was coffee machine and small fridge would be bonus. Better option for pillows would be good. Bed itself was comfortable though. Highly recommend
Large comfortable room with a large light filled window. Very modern, sleek and quiet. Bed was super comfy. Shower didn’t drain very well and a bar fridge and kettle would have been nice in the room (downstairs had a bar area that made tea and coffee for a fee). That aside - a lovely place to stay in a great location. Staff were super friendly and helpful.
I stayed at the Barthels for two nights, arriving after a very long drive and immediately being able to relax. It’s clean, modern, and comfortable and in an incredible location right in the heart of the old town of Würzburg - I could see the cathedral dome right outside my window! Despite that, it wasn’t noisy and I wasn’t ever woken up to the sound of church bells chiming or street noise. There’s no parking at the hotel but there are so many car parks nearby it wasn’t a problem, and I enjoyed the walk across the Old Bridge every morning to the place I’d chosen to park. The staff were friendly and the overall vibe was great. Würzburg is a pretty city and The Barthels was the perfect base to explore it from.
I love staying in places that are a bit unique and where the owners are engaged with their guests. Both are true at the Barthels. Opened only 6 weeks before our two-night stay, the hotel seems to be entirely staffed by the family that owns it. They work the front desk, run the small bar, serve breakfast in the morning all with great friendliness and attention to their guests. Initially I found the modern, somewhat Bohemian decor of the lobby a bit off-putting, but came to appreciate it as a reflection of the tastes of the owners. It is fun to hang around for a drink in the evening, and the breakfast was excellent. The location is also phenomenal, right at the heart of Wurzburg's atractions. Highly recommended.
