"Beach view from room was stunning, but windows desperatley needed cleaning. Lots of tea and coffee which can easily be replenished at reception (staff were much better this time!) ; rooms aren't tidied unless you request it, which I really liked as you're not disturbed. Location is fantastic, over 100 steps down to the beach but there is a public lift for about £1:50 return, or a number 2 bus every hour which drops you outside the hotel from the sea-front. "Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Lounge area was lovely and if it had soft music playing would have been even better. This hotel is not for people who have difficulty with slopes or steps as it’s on the top of a hill and a fair walk from anything. "An amazing stay. The dining experience was excellent and the renovations that are underway at this venue is out of this world. The bedrooms are very tired and but very desirable but clean and comfortable and price reflective - a dog friendly venue - dogs welcome in all spaces. Brilliant !!! the bedrooms are scheduled for renovation November 2025 - if these are going to be designed and completed to the standard of the social spaces then the grand villa hotel will be outstanding and I imagine one...
