"Such a lovely hotel and a great place for a relaxing stay. Our room was surprisingly large for three of us and was lovely and clean and had everything we could need. Really thoughtful and unusual decor really added to the whole hotel and the restaurant was lonely. Great food and a particularly friendly waiter.
If you are looking for a break from the boring chain hotels and some fab food and service then it’s for you."
"Elevator from parking garage was out of order. Had to carry my suitcase up 8 flights of stairs to access the hotel lobby. Asked staff at checkin to comp the 5GBP parking charge but they said the car park was owned by the town and they couldn’t do anything about it. This is unacceptable. The staff should have provided vehicular access to the lobby for unloading which would have been possible under the circumstances."
"Lovely nights stay at the Ashford Arms. Comfortable rooms and excellent restaurant serving fabulous food. Nice to have a breakfast menu as opposed to a buffet. Great location in quiet village close to Bakewell. Would stay again if back in Derbyshire."
"Our 5th consecutive stay over August bank holiday says it all really, fairly priced, excellent (free) breakfast and evening menu. Staff are always attentive, friendly and courteous. We’ll be booking for next year 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️"
"A lovely get away from it all pub with a great breakfast every morning and a good menu for the evening. A short drive from the village of Hartington."
"The Rutland arms is dead centre in the midfle of Bakewell, great views of the town and easy to walk from.
Great for people watching as its pretty busy.
The staff were approachable and efficient, especially the waiting staff.
The whole experience was lovely, as was the room. Will be definitely visiting again. "
"Good standard hotel room with spacious shower. It’s worth opting for breakfast as you get a good one with plenty of choice.
The car parking is a little bit tight as some of it is on the edge of the driveway.
As it’s joined to the university campus, I imagine it’s much more busy and possibly noisier in term time. We visited in the holidays and it was reasonably quiet although people walking on the path by our window could have been an issue ( you could opt for the floors above but the downside...
"Take yourself back in time to an era we all want to recreate away from this troubling world. I was hoping for a spitfire to zoom overhead at anytime. A beautiful location within the Chatsworth estate in old style properties with plenty of character. Just a few steps away is a lovely local pub The Beeley Inn serving delicious food (the ox cheek is to die for,) agreeably it’s not cheap but you get what you pay for. Ideal for a special treat."
