Clean room and generally well maintained. A couple of bulbs not working in some of the wall lights. Feels a little dated, but still provided value for money. Access was easy and comms from the owners was good. (I would/will stay again)

The guest house’s hall is not very clean, not vacuumed for days I guess. The room’s carpet was stained a lot, black stains at the door too. The linens had stains , and looked very very old . I informed through Expedia about the linen being stained the moment I noticed but was ignored . There is no staff on site at all. The linens were not changed. I would not recommend the place.

We liked having plenty of space. Plenty of room with a table and 2 chairs. Communication was acceptable. The carpet looks like it has never been cleaned. The bath towels were stiff and very ruff on my skin. The mattress was not very comfortable. Courtyard view was a joke. It was a small area maybe 6ft by 7 ft highlighted by an old wooden table a chairs. It was in need of a cleaning. I can’t recommend this place

Initially, the manager of this guest house was helpful and offered to set up the beds as two singles instead of a double, which was better for us. We had to pay £10 extra to check in 1pm instead of 3pm, but at least that helped with our plans for the day. Unfortunately, during the stay we encountered a number of issues, the most serious being that we appear to have been bitten by bed bugs. Further issues included a strong mouldy smell in the whole accommodation (it was hard to let fresh air in because the front window opens directly onto the crossing of a very busy road, and is on the ground floor so open front window = no privacy), stained carpet, chairs and bed headrests in our room, beds were poor and noisy, both toilet seat and shower curtain rod were broken, no hot water all morning so we were unable to shower. Contacted the manager about a partial refund in acknowledgement of issues encountered, both directly and via Expedia customer service, but they kept refusing. Avoid!!

The accommodation was clean and the bed was comfortable, although the property itself is a little tired and could benefit from some updating. I stayed in 'William', which is quite small. Barbara kindly offered me a complimentary upgrade to a much larger room downstairs, but I chose to stay where I was as being able to sleep with the windows open is important to me. The room was very warm, but fortunately I could open two windows and, as the property felt very secure with little access to the rear, I was perfectly comfortable leaving them open overnight. When the central heating came on in the morning, I simply turned the radiator off. The shower had excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water, and having a kettle and fridge in the room was particularly useful. Barbara was very responsive and quick to answer any questions, which I appreciated. Parking was straightforward, with Alma Road car park less than a minute's walk away. At the time of my stay, parking was free between 9 pm and 9 am, and around £2.30 per hour at other times, payable via the RingGo app. My only real reservation was the price. Having spent a lot of time travelling overseas, I often find UK accommodation expensive for what you get, so perhaps my expectations are a little different. Nevertheless, the room was clean, the bed comfortable, and I had everything I needed for my overnight stay.

The people who run Charles House are so helpful and kind. The check-in process could not be easier and the whole experience is very positive and great value.

Perfect location for a visit to Windsor

Great short break location

Our 2 night stay in William was just what we needed...an extremely comfy bed, constant hot water and a great location. ..river, castle and shops all within easy walking distance. The door code check-in was very convenient and gave flexibility and accessibility at all times.

Perfect location. Easy check in. Very spacious room. Bed was comfortable. Quite. Clean however pillows towels and carpet could do with renewing. Was as expected for price.

Wish I stayed longer!! The hosts were lovely and easy to communicate with and made the check in process so simple. Overall it was such an adorable accommodation, it was close to everything, there was lots of natural light, had a fan, and the bed was so so comfortable! Felt like I was at home. Would definitely book again!

Very easy check in, property is on a main road opposite a large co op food store and within easy walking distance to the castle and high street. Stayed in Victoria which is a very large room, very clean and comfortable, large fridge which was useful and all the amenities needed for a stay. Quiet within the property. Good value for the area and would stay again. Host was prompt to answer queries and friendly.

This was an unusual property - there is no front desk or people there to check you in. It’s also an inconvenient walk from the town center, crossing busy streets.

Exceeded my expectations, beautiful house and room (Harry) clean, bright, and spacious with very pretty furniture. The bed was super comfortable, slept wonderfully. The street is busy, with cars and people using it all night, nothing loud, just enough background noise to put you to sleep. The other guests were very quiet, only heard a family coming in at 9 and another one leaving at 7:30. Super location, 10 minutes walk from the castle and with a parking lot 50 yards away. Another plus is the Co-op corner store right across the street. I loved it and will definitely use it if I come to Windsor again.

Bring an air conditioner

The room was hotter than hades. We couldnt sleep for crap. There was no air circulation whatsoever. No fan provided at bare minimum. We endured a miserable night.

This is not a hotel; it is some really nice rooms for rent. You get a code for the doors and never see any people. Once going in, you just see a few rooms downstairs and 3 rooms upstairs. If you cannot carry your bags up a flight of stairs make sure you request a room downstairs. The rooms were very clean and very large. It was very quiet and I got lots of rest. Across the street was a grocery store to get anything you need. The Castle was a short walk (5 minutes) and plenty of places to eat by the Castle. From the Heathrow Airport you can take an Uber for $40 pound or take the Flightline 703 bus for $4 pound. The Flightline 703 picks up outside Terminal 5 and will drop you right at the Charles House. There is 23 stops but they go very quickly and have space for your luggage.
