My wife felt scared and unsafe. Very noisy, loud music, people walking by yelling and cursing at each other. My wife never sat on the bed or used the bathroom because it looked unclean. It was so bad the we just loaded our things in the car and left. We called Expedia customer service for a refund and was told the hotel clerk is not authorize to applyba refund, that we had to wait until morning for the manager. Im very upset 😡

Would not stay there again
First impression of front desk clerk was not good. I felt she was annoyed I was there and not friendly. Room looked clean but later when I had been walking barefoot the floor was dirty and my feed were black. Room needed many updates, rusty in bathroom, refrigerator made weird noises. Appears you have permanent residents on one side but was not a problem.

For the most part my stay was good. I usually stay at the hotel when I come home to North Carolina. A few suggestions: 1. Update the room door locks. The magnetic key cards aren’t working properly and it takes to long to unlock the door. 2. There was a roach in my room. I’ll “chalk that up” to the door needing the rubber replaced at the bottom. I’ve never experienced this before. Lastly, the staff was great. I‘ll be back when I visit again.

The staff was very courteous and the room clean but the room(s) need serious attention... popcorn ceiling was falling from the ceiling, cigarette smell was overwhelming w old burns in the sheets and bed cover, TV did not work(could been a remote problem) and all the bathroom fixtures were very corroded. It is also a residence for some occupants for some and I paid shy of $100 for a Tuesday night, in my opinion that is really high for the condition. The morning coffee was great but no breakfast as stated online.

Malia,The bug nest reported was 3 black buttons planted under the mattress. The staff and management puts in a lot of hard work and time to provide each guest with a clean room. Wrongful reporting of problems demotivates employee morale

This area looks like it’s been under construction and just forgotten about. The staff was RUDE and the room…I took a picture and video to show how horrible it was. Cigarette burn on the sheets, fridge and microwave are all rusted and there’s no way I would take a shower. I’m from out of town going scuba diving and hope the salt water washes away the filth. NASTY PLACE AND I WILL NEVER EVER STOP IN WHITEVILLE AGAIN!!!!!

NC DOT is expanding 701. Since the hotel is on 701, construction is visible. Construction projects usually take time and do have impact on traffic. The hotel is an Economy brand hotel providing clean rooms for guests on a budget. Since Whiteville is a humid area and the hotel being an outdoor property we do see more wear and tear on the furniture.

The first night A/C was broken burned up all night because they said that they wouldn’t have another room till next day about 1:00 pm, so we moved to that room and we’ll both rooms were nasty and had roaches. Then I rented the room for 14 thru 16 which was 2 nights and because we checked in on the 14th that morning they said that was considered a night so we had to check out Thursday instead of Friday, would not recommend this place to anyone and I’ll never stay there again

Needs TLC
Room had a smoky smell. Bed was a bit too hard for me. An older place that needs TLC. Not enough outlets for computer ... none at the desk and had to unplug the microwave to get any power for the laptop. Was pretty clean, but some scattered debris on floor.

Clean and friendly!
Desk staff were very friendly! Room was very clean. Breakfast was enough to get you on the road. The area is a little noisy due to being near a major highway.

This property could use an update but that being said it was very clean and staff was friendly. I usually find properties on Expedia, then go to the property website to bypass Expedia fees. Hopefully, this helps the chain out. In this case, the Econo lodge charged a $35 "reservation fee" that Expedia did not charge so we purchased the room through the third party. Remember that when making your reservation on line. Going directly to the chain site may not be beneficial to you.

Choice hotels website doesn't charge a reservation fee. There might be some kind of misunderstanding.

Hotels have unsecured network. iPhones usually have problems connecting onto unsecured network. You have to manage it thru your settings.Android phones don't seem to have that problem.

Arrived at hotel and paid for my stay. Immediately started seeing bad signs as we were walking to our room. Entire place smells like Pot. Opens the door to the room and the musk slapped us in the face. The room was extremely nasty! Picked up the mattress and there were dead roaches all under the bed, sheets, between mattress. Then we discovered the blood stains all over the mattress! Immediately went to front office for a refund and to check out and the lady at the deck told me we would not get our money back! We were so disgusted from the pure lack of cleanliness we just left and went straight to another hotel. Never go here this place is awful. Reported the hotel to Dhec

Not even sure where to begin...other than saying I should have checked the Yelp first. I've stayed in Econo Lodges before....and never seen one as dodgy as this. And for WELL over what the actual price is?! Yikes. But after a 14 hour drive...I didn't have the strength to go looking anywhere else. We're talking peeling paint on the doors, busted up rooms and a general sense of "hey...it's just a few hours for sleep." I guess if there's one thing deserving a star, it's that the beds are comfortable. But seriously...beyond that? This is a SERIOUS case of "skip it."

A place to put your head for a night.
This was a stop over on the way to FL and to visit family in Wilmington, NC. Although the room was dated, it was clean and comfortable. There is plenty of fast food restaurants for options, although we did not use.

This hotel was disgusting. Rooms were dirty with roaches. I had my family with me and we all witnessed active drug and prostitution activity going on in the hotel parking lot. I will never stay at that place again.

The place was dirty in rooms, bathroom no handle for shower as it was ripped out and poorly patched over, bathroom door was sprung. I am surprised how this place dis being run and totally surprised Choice would allow to be an Choice place to stay, I will also comment on Choice rewards. My experience made me to never stay here again. Everything done is poorly. painting and repairs.
