This hotel is embarking on a spectacular refurb. So this review is slightly mixed. It's clear the hotel was in major need of upgrading. This is happening whilst guests are in situ. So the first thing to say is there could be some small noise and disruption. This did not spoil my stay in the slightest though.
The room we had was very large but also not one of the refurbished ones. It was very dated. But it was huge and it was comfortable and that's all I needed.
The new signature Badger Bar is absolutely stunning. If they are continuing with that standard throughout the hotel, it will be sensational.
The location is obviously amazing as it sits on the West Cliff overlooking the sea and Abbey. Very easy to walk to town.
I am returning to the hotel this summer and will happily stay again after that. For anyone who isn't seeking perfection, book this hotel with absolute confidence. For the handful who seem to think they booked the Waldorf Astoria whenever they stay anywhere, I'd politely recommend leaving it 18 months until the hotel is fully completed
