Relaxing hotel, staff friendly and helpful

The hotel is well located in the town. Short walking distance to shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Its a peaceful hotel and I found my stay relaxing, which is what I was hoping for. I would definitely stay there again.

Room spotless, staff attentive, good amenities, breakfast excellent, great to have the addition of takeaway cups for the coffee machine. Only negatives are the corridors looked very tired and in need of updating as did some of the furniture around the foyer. I'm lead to believe a refurb is planned.

Lovely hotel. Parking underneath in car park. Ticket from reception allowing free use during our stay (barcode ticket to use). Comfortable and a nice breakfast. The sticky toffee pudding is huge and shareable.

Extremely disappointing stay in a once nice hotel

I don't often write negative reviews, but this property is just sad. It once must have been a nice hotel, but certainly not any more due to filthy conditions and lack of maintenance. First, the shower was not usable because the drain was completely plugged. It must not have been cleaned in a long time since it would have been noticed by the cleaners. Not just slow, completely clogged. The sink in the bathroom was full of mold. The coffee maker in the room was absolutely disgusting and not even put together properly. The carpet was badly stained, paint peeling on the walls, unsealed cracks everywhere. The tub had obviously not been cleaned since the last use. The view from our suite on yhe top floor was outstanding, but that is about all. Luckily we only booked it for one night and could not get out fast enough. The staff did not seem to care at all about these issues, so I assume they must hear these all the time.

Overall the hotel is nice. Maid service needs improvement.We arrived the shower gel in the shower had about an inch of soap. The next day it was empty and was not refilled. Each day we had to ask for coffee pods as the maid didn't refill it. Lots of little things needed improvement.

Poor handling of room service.

Wanted room service. Friends had nice brochure with nice menu. Our jr suite did not. I asked for one at front desk. He didn’t have one but I should ask in restaurant. They didn’t have any. Took pic of dining menu to room to order. Poor handling. Wanted to relax and eat in room but had to run around for service.
