"Hotel checkin was terrible , i travel extensively & that was the first hotel in possibly the last 100 ive stayed at that never allowed early checkin without a fee ! Hotel itself is a 5 minute walk from Berlin HBF ( the main station) so its easy to get around the city from there. Decent size room , nice big bed , good hot shower. Fast wifi throughout the hotel. Added bonus that not many german hotels have was a fridge & safe in the room.. Checked out early as very early flight & requested an alarm call that never happened as the 2 night receptionists were outside smoking @ the time i had requested. Special mention to Hasan who was the receptionist who hid behind policy when i requested an early checkin ( 2 hours) & didnt acknowledge my platinum level membership with hotels.com I dont get any money back for leaving the hotel 9 hours before checkout yet he wouldnt afford me 2 hours early unless i paid.. these kind of policies need changing I have never complained about any issues before but felt i needed to do so on this occasion "

"The Steigenberger Hotel Am Kanzleramt (hard name to remember!) by the Berlin Hauptbahnhof is excellent. Very convenient location, nice rooms and a great spa which is complimentary for hotel guests. I've stayed here twice, and would definitely stay here again if I come back to Berlin!"

"The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very good with a large variety of items. The interior is aesthetically pleasing, especially the dining area is very beautiful. The setting is wonderful with a lot of green and the Teltow Kanal right along the property. Listening to the birds outside through the open window in the morning was wonderful! Otherwise, the room was very quiet with only a few sounds coming from outside the door during my stay. To my surprise there was a massage chair in my room! Overall I would highly recommend this facility! There were a few things I would mention though. The side of the bathtub, where the shower is located, is very high with only limited places to hold onto, and the bottom of the bathtub is very slippery. I suggest getting an accessible room if you don't want the risk of slipping when getting in and out of the bathtub. Parking was difficult due to some cars being parked in two spaces and overall not enough parking spaces being available, especially during events or conferences. The secondary lot on site gets very muddy in the corners. When the second lot was also full, I had to park across the street in a time limited parking area. This happened several times during my stay. Thankfully I did not get a ticket! The bed linens are washed with a perfumed detergent. Consider requesting hypoallergenic linens for people who are sensitive to perfumes or strong detergents."
