Good one-night stay
Good no-fuss overnight stay, in a pleasant enclave with several nice bars and eateries.
Spacious room, very comfortable bed and great shower. Tea, coffee, bottled water provided. Only slight downside was that the street light shon in past the edges of the curtains, but over all would fully recommend!
The room was very spacious for 3 people and the beds were very comfortable and linen and soap and shower gel provided on arrival, the young members of staff were very helpful especially Brandon he was superb host, the main chef was very nice man as well.
Lovely and well-equipped room, charming staff, good breakfast. A number of the light bulbs, and the bathroom fan, were not working but apart from that our stay was delightful.

Breakfasts and staff service excellent. Nice old-fashioned ambience. Beds very tired - mattresses need replacing. Sadly, only one (v. low) chair in the twin room. Upon arrival, we were misleadby SatNav into trying (unsuccessfully) to access a nearby former annex, which is now a private property, . There was a terrible parking problem - but once a passer-by explained, all became obvious - but we could have done without the extra hassle at the end of a long day.
Arrived at the property, having let them know we would be late. Staff very nice and helpful. Shown to our room, but they couldn't unlock the door, so had to give us another room. We had booked a family room, but fortunately our son didn't stay, as the alternative room only had two single beds. What they would have done if he had come, I don't know.
Room was ok, but dated. One of the plug sockets didn't work. The lamp next to my husband's bed didn't work. The light above the mirror in the bathroom didn't work. There was no mirror in the room.
The toiletries provided in the bathroom were good and useful.
We booked breakfast for 8.45am, but when we came down, we found the door locked and no sign of any staff. The kitchen was empty. Managed to let ourselves out through a back door. At 9am, a member of staff arrived apologising, saying he'd had a late night and slept in!!! I know he'd had alate night, because I could hear him chatting until 1am the night before.
Told him we didn't have time to wait for breakfast and he did refund us the cost of breakfast, which was kind. But still not a good enough service and guess what, we won't be returning!

We attended for a function where staff were lovely, however glad didn’t pay full price for accommodation as it didn’t match the service to date. Room had cobwebs at height & bathroom windows & walls. Bathroom window was clear glass with net curtain overlooking restaurant next door. Breakfast cold & I apologised. Wanted to give feedback at checkout but not interested.
Enjoyed our 2 nights stay.room was large, clean and warm, Breakfast had a large selection of items, The food in the main dining room was also good. The one thing that I would recommend to be looked into is to have a thicker curtain in the bath room.
Stayed here for last 12 years on and off. staff always pleasant but we were let down on first morning as chef was not around for breakfast after we went all round the bar areas he turned up, breakfast was on a cold plate and butter was solid. for toast. On 2nd day we went down for breakfast at 7.45am,'b.fast is from 7.30am. but place was deserted and in darkness so we returned to our room until 8.30am when we saw a car coming into the c.park . on returning to the restaurant, a young lady met us followed by the assistant manager who was doing the breakfast. which was covered in burnt residue and was not edible. the young lady made a note of the fact and was going to let Jenny the Manager know when she arrived later.
The kitchen area was covered with dirty dishes from the night before on both occasions and was not clean. burnt marks on splashbacks etc.
When we went to check out the fella told us he was told to do b.fast at 9.am but did not let us know.
After all this trouble we will not be using the hotel side of the pub in future
Fantastic room, lovely and spaceous with great facilities and very welcoming staff. The breakfast was top notch too! Had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend.
Premier in. Right over the road, I preferred to stay in an independent hotel. Nice room with a bath! Good evening meal in the pub downstairs. Nice cooked breakfast in the morning. Very welcoming with car park and WiFi. Will stay again.
We were made to feel welcome by the friendly proprietor. Our family room was excellently equipped, spacious and clean. The dining area was very pleasant and the breakfast and evening dinner delicious.
The public areas were spotless and the whole ambience most pleasant. It was a most pleasing find and we shall certainly stay there again when next in the area.
Access to the A3(M) was easy and quick.
We consider that the family room, with breakfast was good value for money.
