"Tao is a great small boutique hotel (11 rooms) with the best location along the riverside. The Penthouse suite was a wonderful room with fabulous views from its balcony. The front desk team provided support and services throughout my stay that made me feel like a VIP. They helped us with transport, tours and dining reservations offering great recommendations. "Liked - cleanliness of hotel/room and service from Reception staff. Breakfast spread was good and the restaurant staff friendly. Pool area was big and had enough space for the guests to lounge around.
Didn't like - the road outside and walk towards the palace and museum felt unsafe with too many vehicles. Hotel spa prices were too high so we did not use.

"The breakfast was our favorite part. Freshly-baked croissants brought table side was such a nice touch—and the croissants are fantastic.
Rooms are nicely appointed and definitely better than what you may find for Hyatt properties in the US. The rooftop bar had great views of the Tonle Sap meeting the Mekong, the Royal Palace grounds, riverside activity.
Walk Street is a couple of blocks away. TikTok’s and transportation are easy to come by with Grab.

"The hotel seem to have an attitude that puts the guests in a strange subservient position. Not allowed to use the lift from the ground floor, have to use the quite dangerous stairs to the first floor lobby and then allowed to use the lift. When challenged on this they said it was for security despite there being a security man at the ground floor lift entrance 24/7. When I tried to discuss this further (calmly and quietly) I was totally ignored and the reception staff turned away and stopped...
"We absolutely loved this hotel! The staff were all very friendly especially the pool and restaurant/ staff. The hotel is gorgous and always smelt amazing and was spotlessly clean. We loved the finish of the hotel and the artwork on display. The pool is fantastic and what a view? We spent all our free time there. We had some khmer friends to visit and they enjoyed a coffee at the bar and the view too? But also the turtles and fish in the pool outside the front door. We totally recommend this...
