"Overall not the worst stay of my life if you just need somewhere to sleep for the night. Owner was super nice and friendly. Rooms smell like smoke, curtains aren’t blackout and beds not comfortable."
"I stayed here on a business trip, my first time there. The room had been recently renovated, everything is new. Everything worked perfectly. Nice quiet location just outside Chatham. The owner was very kind to accommodate my special request for parking. Room is not large but was certainly enough space. Fridge and microwave in the room were certainly appreciated. A couple of little tips: food facilities are a bit of distance, so I picked that up on the way there. Also the volume buttons on the TV remote are on the side. Overall very pleased and I recommend this motel "
"The room was nice and the hotel was overall good. We happened to be at the hotel with a hockey team who was there for a hockey tournament. The adults and kids were loud and disruptive. We were traveling with a young child and a 2 month old and it was so loud we couldn't get out kids to sleep. This group also made the hallways dirty after the cleaning time, and so we arrived to popcorn and food all over the carpet in the hallway. The hotel staff were great to help us and try to correct it, asked the families to be quieter.
My only complaint with the hotel was to not clean the hallways as there was a mess. Also, the restaurant was unable to accommodate us Saturday night for both dining in and take-out because of the hockey team. They should be able to accommodate other guests in the hotel, even with a bigger group. With an infant and young child to have to go back out and find something else to eat was an inconvenience.
My biggest complaint is actually with Expedia. The hotel staff told us to contact for compensation and the customer service we got was very poor, to the point where the Expedia representative lied to us about what the hotel said so that we would leave and they could potentially resell our room since they had to refund us. We had to be on the phone with the front desk and the agent at the same time to prove what was being said by the front desk staff. It honestly left us uninterested in booking with Expedia in the future.

The Insignia Hotel, Sarnia, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We travel to Sarnia for every holiday to visit family. After trying mamy hotels, we always chose the Insignia. The service, fitness and pool facility are impeccable."
"First time staying there, it was Easter weekend and there was construction going on Hammer Ing sledgehammers dirt and dust everywhere all kinds of materials, ladders boxes, tables, things in the hallway so you could barely pass with your suitcases. I don’t understand why they had to do construction at night as well, which was really hard to sleep for some of us. There was a constant weird ticking sound. I have no idea what that was from outside of a room, the concierge was rarely at the desk you had to call them for him to show up. There was no breakfast, but there was a restaurant there that separate from the hotel but part of it but all the staff was brand new. Didn’t really know what they’re doing took forever to get the food, but they were friendly and the food was decent. Some of the rooms were cold. Heat was not working. Some of the room smelled like cigarettes smoke."
