"Better room than I expected. Not a GREAT neighborhood, but I didn't feel unsafe walking around during the day. Bus is only 1 block away and will take you up and down Pacific Ave from the Iowa to the beach. We arrived at 1:30 and he WAS going to charge us extra for early check in, but ended up letting us since the room was ready. Mike was very helpful. "

"We had the family suite and it didn’t disappoint! It was roomy, clean, warm enough and cozy! As the friendly front desk staff will warn you - the walls are very thin so you will hear everything from the hallway and the adjacent rooms. The experience is one of a kind! Very pleasant and filled with history! If you are visiting on a Sunday plan ahead and reserve the Royal Sunday Brunch - it’s worth it! Our 5 year old was excited to sleep with the ghosts but no one visited us :) "
