"The hotel is situated halfway up the hill, overlooking the softly winding Douro River and its surrounding landscapes. Birds chirp in the mountains, and the occasional sound of dogs barking only adds to the tranquility. The room is very clean and bright, and you can enjoy the beautiful view while lying in bed. "The Quinta da Moita is out of the way of the Douro Valley but well worth the detour. I stayed there 3 nights on a solo trip. The owners are fantastic, very sweet. The place is perfect for quiet respite, clean rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast! I recommend to anyone for solo stay or couple gateaway! Their wines are great too!
Just make sure to have food for dinner if you want to relax for the evening as everything is pretty far. But the drive is gorgeous and fun!
